JCW JCW Pro vs AWE Touring Exhaust - Help Me Choose
as promised, i ran @ Watkins Glen this past weekend. have 2 videos up so far. i ran a microphone to the exhaust. NOTE: i'm also running a catless downpipe so it is louder than just an AWE touring exhaust alone.

looks like he definitely had me...i will say a few things on that though..
1) i truly was exhausted. 3 straight days of 95+ degrees had my body/brain drained
2) the car was feeling it too. the tires were giving way big time, especially on this session.
3) i was shifting badly, although you couldn't hear it. i normally engage the clutch, engage gas pedal, drop/ease-off clutch. multiple times during this session i was changing gears and engaging the gas pedal after i fully disengaged the clutch. when that happened, i lost all momentum and for about 1-2 seconds i slowed down. this happened at the top of the S as well as the front straight so he pulled on me everytime. i fixed it but again, it was my last session and too late...we were all exhausted.
thank you though. was a lot of fun, and on a great track.

Such a friendly response.
Had to double check that I wasn't on a VW forum by accident.
Every pic and diagram I've seen of the JCW Pro exhaust for JCWs definitely shows it without a second cat:

There are definitely JCW factory exhausts without a second cat too:

Maybe it varies by year or country? All of these seem to have a slip fit interface, not a v-band interface like the other two pics there, so maybe they're just not regionally equivalent. KYDan's pics seem to have a second cat on the stock and JCW Pro parts. I'm not really sure which part number he has or which I'll be getting when it comes. I guess I'll see in a couple/few weeks.

Yes, they are Supersprint and according to them it is a catalytic converter. I thought the same thing, but if you check their website it is a catalytic converter. Does not look the same as the JCW PRO setup. After I looked at my post I realized it is confusing. It was just to reiterate that the system has 2 catalytic converters. As does the JCW PRO system.

Maybe you already set your mind on the JCW PRO, but figured I'd chime in anyway.
I got a chance to check out a JCW with the AWE Touring Exhaust and honestly, it's far better sounding and looking over the JCW kit. It's much more deep, resonant and throaty sounding, where the JCW is more crackles and popcorn. The tips of the AWE are much larger and sexier looking too.
The only benefit I see in paying an extra $1000 for the JCW is having the Bluetooth toy, which it seems most people complain about anyway. Also manufacture warranty issues on your car, if you want to keep it OEM.
Otherwise... the AWE wins hands down for sound but also for looks.
