Just joined your little group here.

Was driving today my JCW and my engine light came on. No power loss. Nothing noticeable. But decided to have it checked out. Anyone have a similar problem before?

Read it could be air mass sensor or oxygen sensor.

Without knowing the exact fault code, it's really a guess. Those two components are definitely among the "usual suspects", but there can be many more.
You need to get an OBDII reader, and get the fault code.

Has anyone ever had a check engine light, seriously? Yes!!

I use the icarly app for iPhone and their wifi
dongle - it reads BMW/MINI codes. Amazon.

I had the light come on. Code: 2B64
2011 JCW.
No loss of power.
New valve cover gasket did the trick.

 

What brand and model code checker do you rec? And where to buy?
