So I took my 2013 R56 JCW with 3000 miles to the dealer last week to get the cooling fan checked, as it was acting weird. They have it overnight and say all is well, no work needed or done. Drove it home the next day in pouring rain and that was that.

Fast forward to yesterday and I go for a 15 mile flying drive and 2 things I notice - number 1, the popping and gurgling has reduced to almost nothing, heard it pop maybe 2 times on the drive but cannot remember any gurgle. The other thing, I think it may have lost a little power! So strange. I can't think what it could be. Did the dealer flash a Mini update to the ECU to tell it to calm down? Is the fuel stale? I filled up after I left the dealer last week with either Chevron or Exxon 93 (never use any other brands, nor lower octane).

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

My 2013 JCW never popped or gurgled really until 5000km (Canada)
but after that it was sounding sweet !!!
