Clutch replaced, too much "play?"

2006 S JCW just had clutch, pilot bearing and flywheel replaced. Now it feels too "loose." There's much less resistance when I depress the pedal and it doesn't grab until I get close to the floorboard.

I will take it back, but I want to know what to tell the mechanic so that he understands how it should "feel" to be working properly. Can anyone help me?

Did u use oem parts. If not that can be your problem. Also the clutch pedal can be adjusted for travel.

Clutch kit is "re manufactured." Flywheel, bolt, "isop intake lin" and clutch hose are identified as MINI parts.

He says clutch is hydraulic and travel cannot be adjusted.
