Potential JCW owner

Hello, I'm new to Mini's but not cars, I recently sold my 03 cobra that had a few upgrades and ran 10.7 up here in Utah's bad air. I rarely drove it the last year or so and so I sold it, because I commute about 50 miles round trip.

I don't have any delusions about building a 10 sec mini, but I am looking for something that I can drive daily and still "race around a bit" if you take my meaning.

So on to my questions for those inclined to indulge me:

1. What is the typical list of "mods" that people do to these cars to increase HP?

In the Mustang Cobra world I could/can rattle off the "top ten mods" and what HP increase you can expect.

2. As HP goes up, how drastically effected is the MPG when in "granny mode" during commute?

3 how does performance and reliability hold up as the miles pile up?

4. What if any are the top 3 complaints about a mini or specifically a JCW?

Did some searching and it sounds like the answer to my questions is that there is not a lot to be done. A new tune seems like the only HP mod other then a modified down pipe.

So I will ask this question, if you have a new 208 hp JCW, and have it tuned, what are people seeing HP bump?
