Winter wheels

I was looking for a set of winter wheels for the Mini and found these on craigslist. They are 17" wheels from an 04 JCW. Just wondering if they will fit my 09 JCW and clear the brembo breaks? I didn't realize this style wheel came on JCWs. Does it seems strange they do not have a TPMS in them?

Anyone else know of a inexpensive wheel to run in the winter?

I lucked out and found a set of wheels and tires from a GP1 that I'm going to use for daily driving. I'll save the GP2 wheels and Kumho tires for track and autocross.

The GP1 wheels don't have TPMs in them either as first gen MINIs had sensors for differential rotation instead of pressure sensors.

Tire Rack has some pretty cheap wheels (~$100 a wheel) and if you buy the tires from them they mount/balance them for free so you're saving some money there vs buying wheels locally and paying to have tires mounted.

I would bet that those wouldn't clear the fJCW Brembos but that's just a guess.

One other thing you want to check if you haven't already is I think the bolt pattern changed for cars built in 2006.

Dang! The GP1wheels don't clear the width of the GP2s 6 pot Brembo front brakes. Looks like I'll have to explore spacers. They do, however bolt right on to the rear wheels nicely ( if you're worried about the bolt pattern)

What is a GP1 wheel? Did the 09 JCWs come with 6 pot Brembos? I was thinking they were 4 but don't know.
