California JCW Lemon Buyback and Issues
Does Anyone have the story on the VIN below?
WMWMF9C51ATF97543
The dealer CREVIER BMW supposabley did a couple repairs.. and is fixed.. But they seamed like small things and two little to justify a buyback.
Also does anyone know if They are now putting better quality components to battle the engine death rattle or is still as needed basis?
Also wasnt there an issue about substandard clutches?
Is there anything else new (problems) since I sold mine in 2009?
Thanks
Miniless but looking again

If you haven't bought the car you NEED to consider a few things on a “buy back” car. We have a "BRANDED" title on ours (California buy back). And it's been nothing but a hassle.
We couldn’t get an aftermarket warranty on the car; finally a rep at our local MINI dealership hooked us up with an aftermarket one. He was the ONLY one that would. AAA wouldn’t touch it neither would any of the other companies I contacted. As soon as they find out it has the branded title they politely tell you to get bent.

We got a good deal on it when we bought it so we thought it was worth it. We owe about 14K on it and every dealership we talked to would only give us about 6K for trade in. They explained that this is a HUGE red flag on a carfax report. Even if we tried to sell it outright we would have a hard time doing it.
It didn't matter what the buy back was for. Passenger seat airbag sensor. MINI put a new seat in it. The Dealer was the onlyone who could see that info.
