15" wheel clearance on JCW

Hey guys,

For the R53 JCW, how many are running 15" wheels? In particular i am looking at the Kosei K4R and the TRMotorsports C1 in 15x7.

15" wheels will BARELY clear the JCW calipers. I have 15" snow wheels and tires, motegi wheels, and the guy we had them before me had them on his R56 (I bought them when I had an R56, but the calipers are the same as the R53 JCW Calipers) told me the only issue he had was the first place to balance them put the weights in the center of the wheel and they hit the calipers. All they had to do was move them to the inside of the wheels and bingo, no more problems. If you are racing the car or you are a heave braker, keep in mind the calipers will get really hot and can take the finish off of the inside of the wheels with a 15" rim. Might I suggest a SSR Comp 16" wheel instead which is hella-light and looks great too. Just my $.02

Actually, depending on the offset, there are several rims that will clear. It's just as much about the offset as the diameter. Some will fit spacer free, some require spacers.

Team Dynamics makes a rim that clears without spacers. 949 makes one that clears with a spacer. There is a list of a few others floating around somewhere.

For the track the 15's are the way to go--smaller diameter, better gearing and lighter--you can go 225/45/15 and stick like glue.

Also, the JCW bigbrake kit was not a stock jcw item....but a seperate kit. So not all jcw cars have it...and many S cars do...
the JCW bbk calipers are painted red, the popular r56 brake conversion is not, but brake calipers, rotors, pads are the same as a jcw...a few folks painted stock brakes red for the look. Sure way is to measure the rotor.

Yes, i am planning on running the 294mm rotors and associated calipers as opposed to the stock 276mm rotors.
