Oh come on
You can't just drop that on us. Where did you get them? Who installed them? How much for the seats? How much for the install? Airbag / Sensor info? Etc. etc....

i got it from local member. he bought it from Denmark and never had a chance to install it. the sale thread is here... https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...and-new&cat=28
The price is there as well. From what i gather, it cost approximately 2200 per seat.
I pay my neighbor to install it. Took him to a nice restaurant and pay him 100 bucks. I was going to do it except that i had to be at a bday party and it was a whole day event. I couldn't wait so i ask him to install. he also install my coil over and cravenspeed short shifter and the rear control arm. Mini is a pain in da **** to work with compare to his evo.
Base on his comment on the install, the most painful part of the install was to take out the passenger side sensor and put it to the JCW. He was very careful and that is why it took him awhile.
I follow this thread on installation. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-bad-news.html
Most importantly, you have to disconnect the battery while working. If you don't want to go to the hassle of taking the passenger seat sensor, you can buy a new one from the dealer. From my understand, if you do that, you will have to reprogram it. I think a member told me he did it thru NCS Expert. In my situation, i didn't have to reprogram at all. No issue with airbag.
Overall..i like to thank Orangecrush and Eddie07s for providing detail instruction.
I have to say, i love this freaking seat. Much better than that POS cloth that was on my car. I had back problem on the old seat. Also i use that excuse on the wifey that i need a new seat
BTW, the GP brake duct i bought from you, i tried to install it without removing the bumper, i couldn't so i figure..if i am going to remove the bumper, what else can i put in there? Hm...so i pull the trigger and got the fmic from another member here. Look like i have a long nice weekend to work the FMIC and brake duct.

Glad to hear the WAF allowed for those awesome seats.
I was going the same route on the ducts - pull the bumper, add a FMIC and throw in the red ducts (too bad they don't fit my S...but that's your gain).
Still got my Helix FMIC in the box, maybe in a week or two that will get installed. Coilovers go in next though. Thanks again for the details and have fun this weekend

I love the seats, but as far as price, that is a costly upgrade over my current Recaro JCW seats.
Definitely a big bucks upgrade... but I learned long ago, when it comes to mods, if you really want it and you gotta have it ...that’s what matters, not what others may or may not do or think.
And those seats do look and seem awesome. But I love my JCW factory upgraded Recaros too.
As far as the coilovers:
Öhlins DFV Road and Track coilovers
Eibach camber plates and rear control arms
Hotchkiss 25mm hollow rear sway bar
Probably two weeks away from install
I agree that buying mods is something that 'you' want and to not let others influence the decision.
I would love to find out what your impressions are of the Ohlins Road and Track coils. I am looking for something, but not sure what to get. I have a 2012 JCW hatch and want to maintain a level of comfort for daily driver use.

Rather than hijack this JCW / Recaro seat thread it’s probably best to check out these two links about suspension and Öhlins

I bought a pair of these seats used to put in my Roadster (in Britain, this is). Assorted thoughts:
- Seat grip is superb, in a completely different league to any stock Mini seat. I expected tyre wear to approximately double, since cornering speed went up so much.
- Getting in and out is, err, challenging if the door can't be opened wide, but isn't otherwise an issue.
- Surprisingly for Recaros, seat comfort over the long term wasn't brilliant. After a while my back started to complain a bit, not pain just twinges. No adjustable lumbar support.
- Seat height can be a problem. There are two sets of bolt holes to be chosen at installation (and can only be changed by removing the seats), highest is about equal to top of standard Mini adjustable seat height, lowest is only about mid-height, so they cannot go even as low as stock adjustable seats, which is bad news in a Roadster.
- These seats use runners and seatbelt buckles/pre-tensioners from stock seats. They (all?) have seat heating and side airbags.
- Physical fitting is easy but the passenger seat has no occupancy sensor, so in Yurp the car can be coded by the dealer to ignore that missing sensor. Only hardtops and Convertibles can be coded, not Clubmen, Roadsters or Coupés.
- Can a Merkan car be coded for these seats? Don't know, but I see RealOEM thinks the JCW seats can be bought/fitted for a US car, so maybe?
- One of the other linked threads shows an extra sensor/switch on the driver's seat - I have no idea about that at all (and I can't find it in RealOEM). It isn't the passenger occupancy sensor as that is inside the seat upholstery.
- If not coded for passenger occupancy sensor, the airbag warning light comes on and stays on.
In the end, I decided that the extra unwanted height and the back twinges meant it wasn't worth keeping just the driver's seat (since it was only the passenger seat that couldn't be coded in a Yurpeen Roadster). I sold them to a GP2 owner who didn't find the new factory Recaros grippy enough - which gives some comparison there.

Angib,
I agreed most of what you said, especially the height and getting in and out of the car. As for comfort i still think the recaro is better than my red stitching cloth seat. That doesn't have the lumbar support either. I was having all kinda of back ache after two weeks of the factory seat.
The recaro seat with instruction from member here, did not cause any airbag light including the passenger seat. I was confuse as well of what that extra plug is..
