JCW R105 Wheels + Tires

Hello everyone,

After several weeks of searching for the right wheels, I finally came across what I wanted! I have a 2005 Mini Cooper S Electric Blue and wanted to get JCW wheels for quite some time. I was able to get my hands upon a set of JCW R105 Wheels. I spent a couple weeks reading all about fitment and tire sizes. Finally I was able to choose the proper tire for the Mini and got both wheels/tires mounted and balanced yesterday.

I love the way the Coop looks now, I took off the 17" S-lites and got the JCW wheels on now. No rubbing or fitment problems. For anyone researching the wheels, a lot of people went with 205/40/18 tires since they are the recommended size. I, however, went a different route and got some new 215/35/18 tires and they look awesome.

So all in all, I am very happy with the outcome of the wheels. Anyone else got some of these wheels? They're amazinggggggggggggggg.

I was fortunate enough to pick my JCW up with them in black. I love the look, but the ride has felt stiff to harsh for me. I have an '06 with the Sport suspension -- non-JCW upgrade. Your setup looks a lot like mine outside of color -- how have you found the ride? I have contemplated going to a 17" setup.

I put those wheels on my Mini in January 2008 with stock width, normal tires (not runflat). I like the appearance and they are fairly easy to clean. Actually I would prefer the same wheel in 17 inch as I think the car needs more give in the tire sidewall.

So here's a follow up post for my original posting I made awhile ago.

I also have the sport suspension, but with the non-run flat tires I chose, the ride was actually better than having the 17" wheels with run flats.

The 215/35/18 tires have held up fine with no rubbing/fitment issues. I'm looking for a new set of tires because the tires I purchased unfortunately did not last long in the front. But I will be purchasing the same size. Other than that, the wheels still look great.
