JCW tuning kit is available for 2011 R56 MCS? Didn't think MINI were releasing it for the revised engine.

My understanding is JCW plugs are the same but you have to replace every oil change interval.

EDIT: Was curious so searched any maybe I missed this posting on MotoringFile. Glad to hear.

The 2011 JCW add on kit comes with a new exh. manifold, airbox, muffler, software and badges. No new plugs, they are recomended to be replaced on every 2nd oil service just like the n14 jcw kits

In Beirut I paid 3800 Usd including installation cose of taxes
Guess in the USA should be 2100 + installation

I think implied in the replies above is that there's no such thing as other spark plugs; you just replace the OEM ones more often...

You have spark plugs for the mini Cooper s and you have spark plugs for the mini Cooper jcw , I'm sure About that and you guys can check minigeniuneparts.co.uk , they sell both kind
Therefore since I installed the jcw tuning kit should I switch my oem spark plugs to jcw spark plugs ? Thanks

I know this is a 'thinking outside of the box idea' with the whole social helping each other out and searching the net for info... but how about speaking to a MINI tech or parts department? I know I wouldn't risk causing expensive damage by guessing about this kind of stuff. If the pkg was installed by MINI, then they would have followed a process and you are IMO going to be fine as-is.

This was pulled from the JCW Kit Install guide for cars up to 2010 (http://motoringfile.com/howto/JCW_Dealer_Installed_Kit.pdf)... I haven't seen the 2011 guide so it may be a little different:

Installation Information
If the spark plugs were last changed 10,000 km ago at the time the John Cooper Works tuning kit is installed, the spark plugs should be changed in addition as part of the tuning kit installation (for part number and designation of spark plugs, refer to the electronic parts catalogue).

Important information that must be observed after installing the John Cooper Works tuning kit and to which the customer’s attention should be drawn:
The spark plugs must be replaced at each oil change after installation of the John Cooper Works tuning kit.
