Looking forward to it, although I must admit it was a bit unsettling trying to teach the dealership what a Stage 1 kit was, though!
Cheers!

The Stage 1 is not listed as an option for MINIs. The JCW tuning kit is. That's why the dealer was confused.....Heck, some of the MAs don't know that the JCW tuning kit is now available for the 2011's. As always safe motoring

Got an update today that the kit with the manifold is $3119.00 installed at my dealership. I did not hear on what the the power would be, but I would hope that it would be 200+, however, I doubt it is.

Does the 2011 JCW kit include EDLC? I've read it may... that is a CAD$350 option here in Canada on the Cooper S.

Wow, just got back from the new Sewell Mini Of Plano and had an outstanding experience. Great folks and sweet facility. Close to pulling the trigger on a MB/MB MCSa w/ JCW tuning kit/aero.
I did verify that adding the JCW package (incl aero and wheels) does in fact delete the paddle shifters which I have to say is quite disappointing.

Take the following hearsay for what it's worth. The MA mentioned that he's heard rumblings that they may be about to announce a full Factory JCW with auto tranny. I figured such info would have been mentioned here before if there was any truth to it, though. It may turn out to be total nonsense, but thought it was worth a mention.

Weird that they would remove the paddles, is that becasue of the new steering wheel or just becasue the programming doesn't want to be manually shifted in an Auto.

Also, the JCW auto is a big doubt in my mind. It will come when BMW sells and auto M car. It keeps with their "grabbin gears = real driving" sales mentality.

Yetti: Yeah, removing the paddles is curious. Dealership had no idea why, but said most likely because of the steering wheel. I'm sure someone here knows better than me, but I'd like to know why.

As far as the JCWa, I highly doubt it myself, but I found it interesting that they mentioned it. Doesn't seem like something there would be enough demand for it to make it worthwhile for Mini to invest in it...

The MA did say "you are throwing us for a loop" because of my highly unconventional build sheet!

Cheers!

The paddles are removed because of the wheel, you can see my long story here:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...or-11-mcs.html

I ended up having my steering wheel replaced with a regular MCS steering wheel with paddle shifters on MINIUSA's dime.

Trust me, everyone at my dealership knows who I am now, I was even offered a part time job by the parts department.

I am looking forward to getting the Tuning Kit installed sometime near the end of August.

2011 Jcw

I just took delivery of a new JCW convertible. It's a great car and it's quick, but would this tuning kit add horsepower?

Yes, it's supposed to add about 15 to 20 HP (~200 HP)via ECU mods, a new JCW air intake, and new cat-back exhaust w/ JCW tips.

NO.

This kit is for S models. Not factory JCWs.

Can anyone confirm that the 2011 John Cooper Works Tuning Kit (for United States Mini owners) will have 200 HP instead of 189 HP and 200 lbft Torque? I'm actually glad the John Cooper Works Package deletes the paddle shifters. You still have the option to shift with the auto lever on the floor, so it's not a total loss and I think it gives the steering wheel a nice clean look.

Does the auto shift boot have the red stitching along with the steering wheel with the John Cooper Works Package?

I placed my order for a 2012 two weeks ago and am curious. I'm having a hard time waiting till August or September to find this stuff out.

Nope, just the steering wheel.

Well, my dealer finally confirmed it's available , $2500 installed. Heading to Australia for a few weeks but think I'm going to have it installed when I get back. Has anyone who's had in installed in a 2011 had any problems, issues?

I got a 1.5 hour quote at $150 an hour for just the ECU install. Much better than the 5.5 hour quote for the entire install. If you feel comfortable installing the exhaust yourself, you could see if they could quote you on just the ECU upgrade.

I just installed the kit by dealer, paid 2500 tax and labor included. They qoute 4.5 hours for installation but actually took me 8 days to get the car back, because some error happened when they flash ECU, well, finally the problem solved.

I didn't think you could just get the ECU upgrade without the whole package, but I see it is possible. Thanks for the info. BTW, do you have any other mods, and what was the cost for just the ECU flash?

I bought the whole tuning kit. I haven't installed anything yet, but will be installing anything I can by myself and paying myself $150 an hour. The final cost for the tuning kit will be less than $2k after the $240 labor charge on the ECU update through the dealer.

Can anyone confirm the part number for the jcw tuning kit for 2011MCS manual transmission. I called Flow Mini in Raleigh,NC today, gave them the part number listed on this thread, and they said it was not a valid part number. They said there is no such kit. I told him there were a lot of people here in the Carolinas that already have it. I ended up hanging up.

And a few weeks ago when Hendricks told me kit was not avaliable , Flows in Winston Salem told me they could have kit for me in three days. And now Hendricks in Charlotte has confirmed that kit is avaliable

Might want to check with Morristown Mini in New Jersey. Just give them your VIN #. They are the real deal.

Yesterday I found that Flow Mini in Winston-Salem, had an 2011 JCW kit, and by this AM, it is now in my possession. Keep in mind that yesterday, Flow Mini in Raleigh, NC (same ownership) said the kit didn't exist.
There also appears to be TSB out on the 011 JCW kit that essentially says that the new exhaust manifold supplied with kit is not needed on the US cars. I don't know what that means, maybe someone who has access to TSBs can find out.
