JCW AC Condensation Drain Tube
AC Condensation Drain Tube
Hi everyone, my name is Ed and I’m a newbie to this forum.
My wife’s 2009 JCW has water in the passenger foot well after some recent heavy rain. The water has saturated the underlay and pooled on the passenger side floor (I haven’t checked the driver side), but the actual carpet (on top) is completely dry. I was thinking either it could be the door seal or by sheer coincidence the AC drain tube as the car does not have a sunroof. The car is now at the dealership for further investigation and carpet removal.
So my question is… where exactly is the AC drain tube? I know the tube comes out underneath to drain excess condensation, but where is it actually located inside the car?
I’ve Googled and searched this forum, but have not come up with much, so any further insights/information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Ed

Not speaking with absolute authority here, as I'm not familiar with the tube routing on a MINI: but on every other vehicle I've owned, the only thing routed to the cabin for A/C is the duct work that brings in the cool airflow. The condensation tubing runs from the A/C hardware (condenser, etc.) under the hood (er, excuse me, bonnet) directly to the underside of the vehicle (usually somewhere near the firewall on the passenger's side; it usually never enters the cabin.
Best way I can think of to pinpoint the condensation outlet is to run the car while using A/C on a summer day, park it, then look for where the dripping water is forming a puddle underneath...
