radio frenquency

hi there newbie here. just bought a MC r56 2007 model. been eyeing for ages to get one and finally bought one last month. i bought the MC from a dealer which imported from japan. i was so excited to see the car (night fire red) and just bought it on the spot. problem is the radio frequency does not reach until 100+ Mhz it goes from 88.0 to only 90.0mhz. our station radio are scatered so do need the 90.mhz above. my questions is is there a way to increase the frequency. do i need to reprograme something or reset something. need help. want to hear the other stations.

I'm no expert, but I believe you would have to replace the radio. Modifying the existing radio or adding a downconverter is probably too difficult.

As an alternative, you could carry a small portable radio, and plug its headphone output into your MINI's AUX connector. On my R56 the connector was under the radio, on the right and above the cupholder/ashtray. Perhaps others in your area have experienced the same problem. They might be your best resource for information.
