Well that was easy!

I thought it was some cool exhaust/intake terminology. Guess I was thinking way to hard!!

I have a JCW catback with that big rezonator after the cat, tell me would it sound better and give me any more power if I cut that rezonator out and patch in a pc. in its place ? Ultimately I am looking for just a little more noise and if there is more power also then thats a bonus.

I rarely am on TotalMINI, and wouldnt have spotted that without your help.

Two questions I have:

1) Is the diameter of the seal from the stock MCS tube different then the diameter of the JCW (inlet tube) seal? I've heard people take the rubber seal from their original inlet tube and put it inside the new rigid tube.

2) If I check the metal hose clamps overtop of the rigid tube (at both turbo and cold air intake ends) am I still at risk of it coming loose and causing damage?

Any thots would be appreciated.
Rixter,
Hey...did you ever get an answer to your question(s)? I, too, am interested in the rigid tube and just came across this information.

By all accounts the freak accident that happened with R99 on TotalMINI was just that, a freak. I've spoken to a service tech and he's never seen one of those come loose. Just cause I'm paranoid I'm either going to put a T-Bolt clamp on or try to figure out a way of preventing the existing clamp from coming loose. In the mean time I just keep an eye on it and check every coupld of weeks.

That's the issue for me, too.

Keeping Mini/BMW on the hook for the warranty. Aftermarket performance parts just seem to give them too much wiggle room to get out of covering things.

I've been having the stall on hot restart problem. But other than that I will say that the JCW Stage 1 kit makes a HUGE difference in the character of the car. I can say that because I have a non-JCW loaner. The JCW kit makes the car sound a LOT meaner. The engine revs harder and acceleration with my inaccurate seat of the pants butt-O-meter tells me that it's quicker too. I am BORED driving the non-JCW. My car is so much more fun. It's an animal. Is the price worth it? It was to me!!! Now if they can only get the car to start normally when the engine's hot, I'll be totally satisfied...
