MCSa JCW Owners: Excessive Tranny Slippage
For 07-09 MCS automatic owners with JCW Tune Kits:
Got my 09 MCSa the day after election day, then about one month later had the JCW Tune kit installed. Lately Ive noticed what seems to be some minor slippage when upshifting and accelerating, especially in 3rd and 4th gears, slippage that I dont remember being there pre-tune kit. it's like the Aisin's torque converter is struggling to keep up with the engine's increased power, similar to how a worn clutch can slip, sensation-wise. My SA acknowledged it as slushbox normal, esp in the mid-range gears that are neither low nor high. However since auto tune kits are something they do NOT do on a regular basis--and that mine was the first 09--they have no precedent. He told me that if it seems abnormally excessive to bring it in for a road test.
Any other MCSa JCW owners feel the same slipping sensation as described above ?

Oh yeah, since last summer. When I ordered my car 7/17 the tune kit was only available for R56 builds to July 08. The last week of August my MA called me (while camping) to tell me that the tune kit would be available for post-July builds (and 2009) manuals and automatics sometime in late fall, once exhaust mount points were redesigned.
dunno about the configurator, but sometimes it is incorrect and m-usa is slow to correct.
And dont get me wrong, the car is an absolutely edgy blast to drive now. I just never noticed the (albeit minor) slippage in 3 and 4 until after the tune kit was installed. I think it's just the fact that the Aisin, altho dependable and smooth/fast shifitng, it is still a slush box.

unless they've found a problem and have withdrawn the auto tune kit, as far as I know it's still available. My SA had one installed on an 09 auto last week.
PS I checked out the M-USA configger, built an S with the auto, went to the JCW accessories page 5, and lo and behold it would not allow me to add the TC until I deleted the auto. I called my SA and he said the M-USA web site configger is wrong (pretty common) and that yes if someone with an auto wants the tune kit, they will do it, and they know nothing of NOT being able to do it. So
