The air box takes 20 minutes. The badges takes 20 minutes. The tail pipe can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the tooling available (tail pipe cutter, less time. hacksaw, more time). Software upload, varies. This is because it depends on the base level code required before uploads the mods. So if your ECU is current, 20 minutes, if your ECU is older, could take an hour or so.
When mine arrives, which should be today, I will do my own install at our shop and have the dealer do ecu only (we have a good relationship about stuff like that ).

Kit Content
For those wondering whats in kit, here you go ! Hot off the truck ...
Above are shots of the shipping label and the one single box it comes in. Several boxes inside containing things like the exhaust tips, air box, badges & plates, CD for code and misc mounting bits.
CD and certificate and stuff .....
One would think that for nearly 2K, you would at least get a fancy JCW silkscreened cd .... But what ever, the code is what counts.
The top side of the "SO CALLED" airbox ....
The other side .... Its just a replacement cover, how funny. Still suffers from restriction, just not as much. Was not planning on using it anyway.
If this kit takes more than 2.5 hours to install, the installation person is an idiot. I did not bother to take a picture of the badges, we all know what they look like.
Cheers.

We all know how long it takes to replace the airbox mark!!! =]
he specifically said he was not planning to use the jcw one so I wanted to know which one he was going to use! jeeez
but again with the spark question, i wonder if anyone has had their kit ,auto or not, long enough for the ''other'' oil change =]

You all are too much
I have install the M7 super ags and very pleased with it. Folks using it on JCW tuning engine are even more pleased with performance.
And if someone missed it, yes the exhaust pipe needs to be cut. Using a circular exhaust cutter makes it a very easy work and very clean. Its especially easy if you unbolt the whole section and remove it, make the cut, bolt the front section back, then install the JCW tail section.
BTW, hotter replacement coils/ignitors are out for the R56. Seen one set so far that at least doubles the spark which in turn will help the plug last longer again.
Cheers.

Interesting development while I was at Vista MINI yesterday.
I talked to my SA to see if they would install the JCW Stage 1 kit if I bought it from somewhere else and was told not a problem even if warranty came in to play.I then asked the parts department if they would match Morristown MINIs price of $1680.00 and got the answer of no.I thanked him and left.As I got into my MCS I saw that he came running out looking for me and handed me his business card with a 15% off of MSRP of $2100 which came out to $1785.00 for it.
So bottom line price installed including parts,labor (2.5 hours X $135.00) and tax= $2249.85
One other thing is I was told that the kit has a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty not the remainder of the factory warranty of 4/50K which I think a lot of us were under the impression of.Now if you order the kit when you are configuring a new '09 MCS from MINI USA the full factory warranty of 4/50K applies.I am not sure if you buy off the dealer lot and add the JCW Stage 1 kit before taking delivery if the full factory warranty applies though.

Definitely worth it though because between parts AND labor, I will have less than 1700 bucks in it. It may even be less because even though I have to pay for the JCW cold air intake, I won't have to pay for installation.
