Thanks Weldon. Seems weird where they put them on the Stage 1 kits compared to the factory JCW car. The new JCW car has them on the lower front grill and then where the Cooer S badge is located on the right side of the boot. Oh well. I was just curious. Thanks again.

My dealer tells me the spark plug change is not covered under the so-called "free maintenance".

How do you guys get 30+ mpg in the city?? I am only getting around 21-22 mpg!! This is with a lot of revving in the high rpm range...

My car is currently at the dealer getting the kit fitted.
Should hopefully be ready tomorrow.

I was just wondering if anyone knows what the 1/4 mile time is for Stage 1 kit??

I know that the stock S can do about 14.77 for the auto (according to roadfly).
So does that mean that a Stage 1 car could do 14.50 or less??

Because their city driving is not necessarily the stop and go first and second gear city driving that you are probably doing. I can get 30 mpg in the city on a sunday morning in santa monica, but when i'm in the city during the week, i'm going red light to red light without any sustained periods of going 35-45 mph. I was in tucson this weekend and that city driving would be easy to get 30 mpg.

Just came back home from the dealer. Stage 1 kit installed

It was rush hour so not the time to feel the power, but I had the windows down all the way to listen to the music ! Wow, what a difference ! It seems that it went from alto to baritone so to speak. And as you all indicated, not annoying whatsover while on the highway. I'm a happy customer.

I'll do a further report later.

Emtrey,
With the JCW kit, do the shift points move in non-sport mode? When I go to sport mode on my 08 MCSa, it seems to just stay in the next lower gear than it used to. Also, does it quicken and or harden the shifts?

Thanks,

sd

Much better than the originals. I like the slant in the external portion that gives it a nice aggressive look.
