I'm not sure if I should post this here or under electrical, but I have an 03 MCS and I have a clock and no maplights on my car. I've seen the 05 and they have map lights which I personally would find a lot more useful (esp since I have an aftermarket HU which displays the time). Does anyone know if I can buy that map light console and just pop it into an 03?

Did the 04 have a maplight or the clock?

04 has a clock

not sure if you can change them, I've had both but can't recall how similar they are in size or shape.

 

I tried to put a clock where my 05's map lights are. The plastic surround popped right in, but the wiring was another story-clock was a no-go. But I bet a maplight in place of a clock would work, since there's power there, and the fit is the same.

were the wiring harnesses the same? I'm wondering if you pluged them in ok, but then just didn't get power.

 

No not the same at all. I don't remember the setup exactly. The clock did get power tho. Its orange light came on, but there were no clock numbers!
