Whalen shiftknobs for the R56 "IS" a go!

Because we've had that other thread up for some time I though we should start a new one, one that states he DOES make his shiftknobs for the R56. I got mine about 2 days about its great, changes the whole feeling of the car, not to mention the looks I went with the plain cue ball because of its retro look, which ties in very nicely with the MINI and I highly suggest this to anyone looking for that finishing touch in the interior but only want the best!

I will post pics as soon as I can, but I know Vader posted pics of his in the other post and his yellow #1 ball looks very much at home.

What I did was grip the top of the boot firmly and grip the shiftknob equally firm and pull down on the boot and up on the **** and it came off. As far as installing the new one, well, its got that locking system and it actually slipped on and locked while I was messing with it, it was that easy and it surprised me because I didn't even really "try" to get it to lock, I was trying to figure out how to do it, LOL! I can't say this enough...GET ONE!

Actually, I just ordered six R56 and four R53 adaptors from Doug. I've already got about 20 of the brass inserts he uses for the pool *****. I'm making wooden ***** with the Whalen Shift Machine adaptors. Doug has been very helpful.

I posted some early photos in this thread:

I don't have my MCS yet (very soon I hope) so was wondering how the swap went. Glad to hear it is so easy. Doug does nice work.

Those wood ***** Robin made look great. I have the English Oak and his first photo looks very similar to it. I'd actually like one just about like that!
