How hard to hook up a boost gauge?

The title says it all... Does anyone have a link to a How-to, or are the instructions one typically receives with a boost gauge clear enough to DIY it? Also, several gauges are of the boost/vacuum type rather than boost only - will such a gauge work properly on the MINI? I know I could go with the (very expensive) MINI brand or Alta gauges but I'm looking for something a bit different (go figure).

Thanks!

EDIT - found a PDF file on Autometer's site w/ basic installation instructions, but I'm not sure about things such as "where do you run the boost tubing?" etc. I'm looking at a simple mechanical gauge, BTW, not a fancy-shmancy electonikal one.

1. remove intercooler
2. remove vacum line to fuel pressure regulator
3. install short piece of vacum line and t connector
4. install long enough piece of vacum lkine to reach the cockpit
5. re install intercooler
6. run vacum line through fire wall
7. hook line to guage
8. start car and enjoy

I used the same thread but i did not have the vac gain system on mine so i used this post as a template for my hose hookups. Mine took about 45 mins to install completely. glad to know im overboosting ths bad boy! here is the post im talking about:

So don't bother with the VGS install, just look at the hose layout! It is only for helping people understand better the hoses routing, since it looks the same for the boost gauge install.

Here is the pics and details :

1 - The hose from the fuel pressure regulator (#4 on the picture), which is located right above the "T" fitting. You disconnect it from underneath, and plug it to the "T" fitting.

2 - The extra hose you bought, which reconnects the fuel pressure regulator to the "T" fitting. You only need about 6-7 inches lenght.

3 - It's the hose that you run from the "T" fitting to inside your MINI, and connect it to the boost gauge.

4 - it's the fuel pressure regulator!!

I think this picture is a lot easier to understand! (since it doesn't have 5 hoses going everywhere! lol)

JUST what I was looking for - thanks so much!!

EDIT: The section on VGS - I'm not getting that part. Which diagram should I emulate in my install?

Went with this gauge - I have dark gray speedo and tach faces, and I thought this would spruce things up a bit. I don't have any other carbon fiber in the car, but I liked the yellow hash marks.

Seems that way... The How-to seemed pretty clear (the reference to VGS aside). I'm unclear if there are two different diagrams or if one is a clarification of the other...
