Not my car, I got the pic off of MINI2. I guess the story is that someone stole the emblems off. The holes are there because they hold the 2 MINI logos in place I guess...

Yeah looks like 4 little holes. Can't really tell how big they are but look to be around a 1/4 inch. I don't know how much stuff is between the sheet metal and the interior trim of the boot but you would need to get through all of it to the back of the sheet metal. That way you can fill in the holes from behind with out screwing up the paint. Then just paint the body filler with touch up paint.

I was thinking about removing the MINI badges, and replacing with M3, ALPINA, or some other kind...
I guess if the pins don't match the holes, I can just saw the pins off the new badges, and affix with surgical tape.

has anyone else done this?

just a thought!

Not necessarily another marque... those were just "for instance". Several tuner companies sell badges in addition to performance accessories, or along with their performance packages.

I'm not gonna put a big fluorescent Honda "H" on the bonnet !!

My all-time favorite one was once I was driving through a parking lot and I saw a Mercedes S500 (or it could've been an S600) with its "custom" badging. It was badged as S2000. What the.... Wish I had a camera b/c that's the first time I've ever seen someone rebadge their car to immitate something that costs 1/3rd of what their car is worth.

Funny thing is that I was driving my S2000 at the time.

Ha!

I'm definitely not looking to imitate something else... just for ways to make my MINI a little more unique.
I have seen many original Minis in magazines with custom/unique badging...
Laugh if you will, but I think it's only a matter of time before MiniMania and others start selling creative replacement badges for the new MINI too !
Heck, for a retro-look, you could switch out your new MINI badges for orig. MINI ones.

John-
I like that idea of putting a different badge on. Of course a MINI related one.

I replaced the "Cooper" and love the simple look of the rear.
It didn't even take a whole (Sorry, I measure project time in terms of beers. The more beers the longer it takes and the longer it takes the more beers I drink...)

Well, finally removed the badge, and what a hassle it was! I had some crappy dental floss, so after I tore up a couple strands I took out the SpiderWire Fusion fishing line. I was able to tape up the badge so everything is where it was. Here is a pic...

There was a lot of sticky residue left, so I had a great time removing it with Goo Gone. It went smoothly after that. Here is the finished product...

...I guess I should go remove the Type R badges I put on my MINI that I just got from pepboys

No but really I think its kinda cool to see MINIs with M3 emblems or just the M. I've seen a few at some shows with them already. Monster Mini has the wing emblems that say MONSTER instead of MINI, I'd put them on my car if they sponsered me.

A MCS Stealthy??? Say whatcha gonna do, replace the bonnet with a MINI One version, and the rear valence/exhaust with a single pipe? Hell if I'm gonna go to the trouble of making a dental floss saw and hack that Cooper S off my *** end, I'm gonna be placing something like HEMI from a '69 Mopar to replace it. A Stealthy MINI, fat chance.

If for no other reason, do it to make waxing WAY easier!

I use Eagle1 "wax-as-you-dry" You don't have to worry about spraying it on the plastic bits either!

How DO you guys wax inside the COOPER O's ???

I also have removed my Cooper S badging, but not the MINI logos which I like.

I will also remove the S side vents and replace them with the chrome ones that are available out there.

I like the debadged look, nice and clean, and it does help with waxing and cleaning!

>>Replace the badges with something from another marque? How rice! Reminds me of the Saturn I saw yesterday with "TRD" (Toyota) and "NEUSPEED" (VW/Honda) plastered on it...and Type R badges.

Awesome! I saw a early 80's Civic gone wanna-be rally car with an *ugly* WRX sticker on it! Maybe the owner meant WRC??? The car had driving light and tape X's over the normal headlights. I was tempted to follow it to find where it lives and return with my camera.

I don't worry about the Cooper Os or any other letters since I've removed all of the letters. Like the dude says, It looks cleaner and is easier to keep cleaner.

You don't notice it at first, but it does make it look cleaner.
