mannn so im driving on I-66 this morning and anyone that knows the area knows that theres lots of A-holes in their big boy trucks....one happened to kick a rock up and crack my windshield......now i was a goof 30 feet away ....this is my second mini that this has happened to the last one an even bigger crack was from like 100 yrds away rightttt smack dab on my windshield. ....never replaced it just tried to repair it....does anyone know the ball park for a replacement mini cooper s windshield.....and does anyone know a good repair kit ...its not huge but i dont want it to spider web out and crack even more

 

Yeah, I have busted two racing by following cars throwing track debris. I have been using Safelite Auto-glass. It's about $275-300 dollars to replace the windshield. The factory windshield, at least on the older Mini Coopers, seem to have "soft" glass and pits badly. They crack pretty often. I did not bother with my insurance because the deductible is more then the cost of the windshield.



Be sure they unscrew the plastic pillar trim. I once had a guy break the clips off and then attempted glue them back with adhesive. Make sure whoever replaces the windshield has done a Mini before. Good Luck.

I got dropped by my insurance company because I got 3 new windows and 2 repairs on them. Never told them I paid for 2 shields and 7 repairs.

I have never seen such soft glass in my life! damn angel of the window doesnt help much either.

 

I've had two replaced and used Safelite. Very happy with the results.
