favored door edge trim?

I'm looking for a door edge trim similar to the one described below. Does anyone have one they've used with their MINI that they like very much? Had a close call the other day with a rock wall and want to make sure I never chip up the edge of my doors. Thanks in advance.

This easy-to-install Trim Gard black door edge guard door molding minimizes damage to your car doors while adding a stylish black accent. Each section of this black door molding features a 3/16” deep U-shaped channel and has an outer width of 1/ 4” with an outer depth of 5/16”. These black door edge guard door moldings have been extruded from a durable polymer that bounces back after impact and feature a PVC protective coat to keep the black looking as new as the day you installed it. Installing this flexible black door edge molding on your car truck or SUV is simple and we even have installation instructions available on-line for your convenience. So you don’t have to buy too much or receive too little to protect your doors, we offer this Trim Gard black door edge molding available here in 5 foot increments, and an order quantity of 2 will get you one 10 foot roll, 3 will get you one 15 foot roll, etc. The U-shaped channel, filled with an adhesive bead, hugs and covers the edge of your car door so instead of the sheet metal and paint getting damaged, the flexible protective trim of this black door edge guard takes the abuse! Not only does the black door edge guard trim look great- it accents your vehicle’s black name badges and emblems as well!

I just have the black plastic kind you wedge onto the door edge. As long as the edge is uniform in thickness, it will stay on ok, and is a cheap solution. I think I paid around $4 for a pair at K-Mart. I think they also come in chrome and clear plastic finishes. They are a bit over a quarter inch wide and are U-shaped, running about 30 inches long, each.

Another solution is even cheaper, and that is to use those 6-inch edge guards. The only problem is that I've only seen them in clear. They are also more visible, wider and could therefore fall off more easily. They run about 88c each, at Advance Auto.

I use a self-adhesive door edge molding...

it's not a "U" shape, but it has a lip wraps around the edge of the door. I got it from the
recon dept here at work, it comes in a roll.

Just don't put the chrome trim on. It is way to ghetto and doesn't look good.
