Yup, time for the original white bonnet stripes to come off... cracked and look terrible after this winter. Since they are so old, I'm a bit worried about it. I'll see if we can make it to the breakfast. Depends on weather for sure!
I know the thread is a little old, but i am thinking of removing my stripes, I have an 02, but its only got 65xxx on it, and the paint is in good order, has anyone else pulled stripes off an older car?
Just wondering if anyone has tried a clothes steamer? I have removed old tint from windows with ease and no left over residue at all using a commercial clothing steamer. Not sure how the factory paint would handle it, but just a thought.
I just came across this video of someone using a steam cleaner on some old R56 stripes... pretty impressive!
I used skittle heat from a blow dryer to pull off the stripes. Then a little goof off to get rid of the edge line. The paint under the strips was in better shape then the rest so I spent some time polishing.
