Boot/Trunk Tray

I've had a Weathertech trunk tray in many of my cars, but I can't seem to find an equivalent for the MINI. I find that the weathertech rubber trays, provide a little bit of a lip (like 1.5"-2" high), so that if I *EVER* spilled anything, it would be really easy and quick to clean the tray rather than the carpetted trunk/boot area.

Anyone know of any such thing for the MINI's ?

Thanks in advance !

I bought one the day I took delivery of my MINI from the dealer. I am pretty certain it was a MINI USA accessory. If your stuck I can dig up some paperwork.

It is...

Yes, it's a MINI accessory, available for both the hardtop and the cabrio, as I have one for my ragtop. I was glad I got it when the quart of complimentary MINI motor oil fell on it's side and leaked all over the inside of the tray.

Cool, is there a difference between the hardtop versus ragtop version ? I've got a ragtop too.

That's not the same as the one that MINIUSA sells, is it ?

Yep, those are the OEM MINI pieces.
I also have the boot box, which is great if you've got more than will fit in the boot, but you don't want it flopping all over the backs of the seats. Not sure if it would fit in the ragtop.

After following all links in Google I ordered the OEM pieces from MiniMania: front and rear floor mats, boot liner and boot liner extension. All pieces are great except for the rear floor mats - a bit skimpy - so I probably will look further for larger rear mats. I looked at the Hexomat pieces, but I decided in favor of the OEM. Also the Hexomat boot liner does not have the lip - and I could not find a Hexomat boot liner extension.

Thanks, I didn't realize OEM had an extension.

Had you considered these : http://outmotoring.com/mini_trunk_liner.html
before you went OEM ?

I was just in touch with MiniMania, they said they don't carry/sell/have the boot liner extension. Are you sure we are talking the same thing ?

From what I could understand from the sites, the Outmotoring mats are plastic whereas the MiniMania 'OEM' are rubber. I much prefer the heavier rubber.

This is what I have:

http://new.minimania.com/web/AddedFr.../InvDetail.cfm

That link is to MiniMania and should show you the 'OEM' front and rear mats, boot liner and boot liner extension.

I have both the OEM boot liner and OEM extension, which I purchased from my Motoring Advisors at the MINI dealership. They are a great investment in protecting your MINI. I love mine.

Wow, thanks SO much !!! I guess I got someone from MiniMania who wasn't too 'familiar with what they had'. in fact, Dan even said they don't carry the boot liner EITHER !! But, that they do carry the floor mats. And that they were talking about getting the boot liner and boot extension!

Thanks for giving me the info !!!

I noticed they even have variances/differences for the boot liner between the hard top versus the convertible (what I have).

Cool... just found this too : http://www.parts.com/partlocator/ind...catalogid=3751

Thanks for your help !!!!

Very glad I could help!

I saw that "S" mat when I was searching. I already had found the one on MiniMania. I passed on the "S" one because I couldn't tell if there was a lip next to the insignia.

FYI - my dealership in North Scottsdale, AZ also has the MINIUSA accessories:

I found out the S emblem version is only available for hardtops. Versus the MINI emblem version, has both the hardtop and the ragtop (slightly different shape/size) version.

HOWEVER, I just picked up the 'extension liner'... and realized... DOH !!!

It covers up the 'lift handles' behind the seats that allows you to lower the seats from the boot. ALSO... the extension liner, 'blocks' the latches of the seat, from grabbin onto the hooks on the car to hold the seats in their upright position.

So, essentially, the liner, is used ONLY when you have the seats down. But if you have the seats up, you have to remove the extension liner, OR.... start cutting holes/slits/flaps into the rubber extension liner.

DOH !!! :( Now I'm not sure if I should keep it or not.

Anyone else have any other ideas ?

Oh-Oh... I didn't think it through when I ordered the extension. Oh well, too late now. Guess I'll list it on eBay if I can't figure out a way to customize it. It occurred to me after reading your post that maybe 2 extra floor mats or something similar, trimmed/sized for each seat back, would make more sense. That way I could use the appropriate one when the seat is down. I know that there is a brand of cargo liner that somes in a roll to be cut for a particular cargo area configuration. Anyway - I shall wait for extension liner to arrive and then decide what to do.
