Interior/Exterior Group Buy: Xenon-Match Foglights
Some of us tried the discount code NAM at the checkout earlier this week and it still worked.
Well I just checked the mail so I'm heading outside to put my car up on jacks.. I'll put one bulb in the foglight housing that isn't melted (passenger side) and I'll be taking my driver side housing off to make some modifications for HID happiness lolol...
Alright well astromini, I just got done from taking my driver side fog light housing off and replacing my HID with the Vision Bulb H11 on the passenger side. At first, I had the same outcome as you, the bulb was very blue and didn't match the factory xenons well... HOWEVER, after like a minute once the bulbs were warmed up they turn super white with a very SLIGHT blue tint. IMO just about as close as you can get to the factory xenon's. I'll take a pic or two tonight.
Thanks Trip024, I for one, am very happy with the purchase. At the GB price it was a steal. Thanks for the heads up.
P.S: On another note, I think I can fix my foglight housing that was somewhat melted and I'm going to make sure the HID bulb will fit perfectly. Once I get done dremeling the housing I'll be putting 2 DIFFERENT bulbs. One is a D2R my friend gave me, the other is the D2S I took off my bro's car. I will be running one Vision-Bulb and one HID for a couple of weeks.
The reason? At first just to see exactly how well the H11's match up compared to the real thing on the other side. Also, I want to compare brightness in order to refute several NAMers arguments about HIDs in halogen housing being less efficient than halogens. And the reason that matters most to me for the time being, to see if the factory housings can withstand the heat of the HID bulb.
Also, it seems there are quite a few points where one could screw in other housing in the factory location. Sooo I think it'll be pretty simple to bolt up a HID Projector housing into the factory location. I will be doing this in about a month or so when I have money for projectors.

Your welcome 02
ill be waiting for those pics..
I have the opposite with my lights. When I turn on the fogs they are super white from the get go and it takes my factory xenon's about 30-60 secs to achieve its full capacity.

Just got in from driving my car... I must say it looks funny seeing one foglight on and the other an empty hole in the bumper... I'll take a pic or 2 when I go gas up in a bit.. I'll also take a pic of the melted housing so you all know what I'm talking about... I think I'll start a new thread on that project though... I figure it'll be useful to someone else in the future as I never found anything too extremely useful when it comes to HID fogs...
Here's a pic I took a couple of days ago when I had an actual HID in the housing... It just looks like a bright *** halogen bulb...

Alright, just got home from dinner and finished resizing the pics and uploaded them to my gallery under the album "Lights." I'll post the ones of the Xenon-Match bulbs here. The ones from the melted housing will go into a thread I'm gonna start about my HID project... Enjoy..

Here are a few pics for you guys
All bulbs on the Passenger side (LHD) are new HID D2R 4300k lows, Xeno-match H7 highs, and H11 fogs.
All bulbs on the Drivers side (LHD) are all stock and 3 and a half years old.
with exception to the PIAA's, of course.

Well
I could not be happier with these bulbs
A great price and they look very good
The install was a pain as my car is lowered and I did not remove the bumper to change the fog bulbs
I simply removed the four plastic clips that hold the wheel well liner into place and squeezed my hand in between the liner and the light area and from the top opened the gap for the bulb and switched them out
Look at the photos and tell me what you think
They will be in my picturetrail account under Xenon Match - just look how late it is here in NY

Just FYI for anyone still interested,as of three minutes ago the group buy code "NAM" still works! I just found this thread and ordered the Xeno-match H11 pair of bulbs. Thanks to the folks that started this up -- I've been aggravated over my non-matching foglights since I adopted my MINI back in January!
Am I missing something or from the look of the pics has everyone removed the small bulb in their front parking lense? I was trying to figure out how to fix it so it does not look so yellow, but I guess removing it would do the trick.

If you are talking about the orange light in the parking lens (egg yolk) you can replace it with either a phillips silver star or the one currently in this group buy. i think the light number is 7507. it'll replace the bulb with one that is silver and still be orange when lit.
Now that you mention it, I hadn't noticed in the photos. My parking lights (called sidelights in Britain) always light up with the headlights or fogs. Are some of you removing the bulbs?
I removed the bulb as I think the car just looks nicer with just low beams and fogs on... Some people replace these with superwhite LEDs to get a close match to xenon's..
I got my lights today, Just so everyone knowsThey cam from http://autolumination.com/headlights.htm even though I bought through vision bulbs. So, his prices are even cheaper than the group buy.....

Is the green light on the switch bank green when you flick them on?
Do you have the key in a proper postion to turn your lights on?

But with the car running the parking lights are always on when any other lights are on.
I received my order - sort of. The interior bulb kit had too many of one type of bulb and not enough of the other. No response from Vision Bulbs by email. Interior bulbs shipped form Canada and the H-11's came from some place in Arizona.
Anyhow, the H-11's are cheapo Chinese bulbs (I guess the interior bulbs are, too) and the interior bulbs give off maybe half as much light as the stock bulbs. I'm returning the whole pile. Seemed like too good of a deal - ya' get what ya' pay for - and sometimes a lot less
.
I'll stick with name-brand bulbs and will gladly pay more, in the future.
