Interior/Exterior Keeping heat out of the cabin
Keeping heat out of the cabin
I had to remove the shift box cover underneath the car to get my shortshift kit to fit with the Milltek exhaust. The result is a lot of heat coming up into the center console during spirited driving... so much that I no longer keep my iPod in the cupholder as it was getting hot to the touch. Any suggestions for heat insulating material? I know dynamat insulates both sound and heat, but is expensive. A search of the forums revealed a number of alternative sound-deadening materials but no mention of how effective they are at blocking heat. Can anyone offer some advice on this?
Did you remove the factory heat shield that you have to drop to get to the shifter box?
I just did the Ultrik short shift extension, and left the cover off the shift box, I'm not getting any more heat coming through.
