If I had your MINI, and I wanted to paint the interior, I would go with a Chili Red, Pepper White, Electric Blue theme...oh and get them all painted at a body shop professionally - NO, I am not dissing your paint job. I have been there, and done that...tried it on my own, and it is not worth the time, effort, or the cost of the paint. But, I know you have already heard this from me more than a few times so I will stop suggesting that .

For the dash: Electric Blue
Down Tubes: Chili Red
Ring around the tachometer / speedometer : White
Ring around the door panel: Electric Blue
Handle part of door panel: white
Door handle part of door panel: chili red
ring around the tach: white or red
e-brake pieces: white or red
Shift boot: white leather / electric blueish leather with red piping

yea...let me see if I can come up with something in photoshop after Prison break is over.

Thanks for the advice. I think when the paint on the dash starts to show signs of wear, I'll have EVERYTHING professionally painted.

For all of that, I'm expecting it'll be about $200.

Interesting color theme. Although you picked 3 separate colors I'm visualizing your suggestion and I don't think it would look bad. Kind of like a UJ interior. Prison Break is awesome, just finished watching it!

P.S.: I was going to say, for the price of good quality paints (like your recommendation, paintscratch) it's nearly $100 for all the necessary paints, primers, laquers, etc. I was going to have some bits painted Dark Silver (I have Alloy Patina, I hate it) to match my exterior but decided I would simply hold off and just pay the extra cash for the pro job.

Personally, I would go with an EB dash, EB downtubes, PW trim rings, EB door panel ovals, and EB door panel handle thing inside the oval.

But then again, I can't even decide on a color theme for my own interior, so what am I saying lol. Good Luck!

the red

I think it would look much better if you take it & get it repainted professionally in EB to match your Mini instead of trying a contrast. To me the red doesn't contrast it clashes & I really can't think of another color that would compliment EB except EB

Is there a different color that would look
better? This was my first try, so I'll probably
strip it down and try again when the humidity
is down.

What color do you think would look the best?
I would LOVE to see it Electric Blue to be honest with you. But what about a lapis blue interior? A different shade of blue could be good. What is the dash color inside the blue and silver checkmate Mini? Have you seen the inside of one? THAT could be a great color combination. A gorgeous blue on the outside and a much darker blue on the inside. Could flow well! No???

After reading all of these posts, I have come to this conclution.

When I can scrape up some extra cash, I'm going to have the larger pieces (like the dash) painted EB. The rest will be PW, most likely.

I must have VERY bad taste because I like it. But, I know that it will look 1,000 times better if I just have it done by a pro.

Oh, and BTW, I ended up painting the downtubes black. It almost looks metallic. I'll get a pic up soon.

Qwert don't change something just because us idjets don't like it. It's your Mini & if you like it that's all that counts . You made the fatal mistake of asking us to chime in but if you like that's all that counts.

Oh lol thanks bamatt. I like constructive criticism. I still plan on have it professionally done.

Here are some updated pics. Just painted the downtubed black. Once again, sorry for the tacky wheel cover. The driver likes it. Again, thats all that matters!

Sorry, dusty, I know.

again, that red dash still doesn't sit well with me..... but those black downtubes plays well in that semi-gloss look, bottom line though, as long as you like it, it's all that matters!

now, if you really are getting it professionally done, you can get all 3 pieces done up as one piece UJ flag.... that'd be my design student advice!
