My Interior changes?

Well if I had it to do all over again, I am not sure I would take on this project. Now since its over, the only thing bugging me is getting the arches stuck back on the door with epoxy glue. What do you think? I did not have a good before picture so this is the only side by side I could come up with.

1 Center Post are black now.
2.Tweeter and door lach are black.
3. Door pulls are LY.
4. H/K speaker covers are outlined in LY
5. Cooper S on dash because of the DINAN badge on back.
6. Painted Intercooler to just not yet finished with decaling it out yet.

It looks good! I have a similar thing done in my interior, except different colors (gallery).

What do you mean about getting the arches stuck back on with epoxy?? What arches are you talking about?

when taking the yellow outlines off the top, they are just braded on with their on looks like plastic brads. So I had to drill the top off the plastic brad to get the top yellow arch off the door, in order to get to the door handles off.
Only way of getting that yellow arch back on was to glue it.
Cooper S on the glove box is same as on the back of the car. Got it from Dealership.

IIRC someone else did similar with the 'ovals', though I think they used a glue gun on all the rivet points.
Looks NICE.

This still doesn't make any sense to me. What "arches"? Do you mean the large door handle and astetic plastic bar that goes across?

Yes prime-drk-, That Yellow piece of plastic the goes across the the top of the plastic bar that goes across. It is held on by plastic rivets.

Thanks for clearing it up. Btw i forgot to say it, but i think it looks great. Really adds some personality to the interior. I plan on doing the same at some point in cr and bl. I have seen a few other people that have done this mod and as I was thinking about it myself I was thinking you would just mask the door and paint that part of the interior panel in place? Obviously it isn't as easy as I had thought but is it possible for a proffessional to do so?

And did you do this yourself or was this a proffessional job?

I took door panel off just to see if it could be done. It really can't be done with just the door panel off, you really have to pull the parts off. Thats when the headache begins. I am re-glueing tonite so maybe my the weekend it will be all done. Will post intercooler on Monday when I get it completed.

Sure it can! Check out my gallery. Just tape off the the parts you don't want paint on.

By the way, The COOPER S Logo on the dash may be considered a safety hazard if the airbags were to deploy. Just something to keep in mind .

Looks great!!!!

i read somewhere else that if you dremel off the melted/glued tabs inside the door holding on the door ring (arch) during disassembly that they are a hollow stud and after painting you can reattach the rings with screws and washers.

anybody here who's had their door off able to confirm or deny?

They are hollow. I found out the best way to get the melted head off is using a oversized drill bit. One that actually is the same size as the melted head. 90% of the time it just spun the head off. On most of them they are not that long to put a screw back down in them. Looks like Gorilla Glue is gonna be the answer to the problem tho. 24 hours now and it really looks good and strong.
