I have been scouring for ideas and I really want to paint my mini pink (umm yeah notice my handle? he he) And I was thinking of grey interior at first, but I would like to do the roof in pearl white and then have white leather seats and matching pink dash, ect. While this is a good 6 months off for me I was wondering if the white leather would be hard to take care of and if it is more $$$?? I have been debating whether I should TRY to be patient and avoid doing any mods until i get my car painted the color I want. Because It is a complete re-do including seats since I have lapis blue I cant get away with pink paint right now. Dillemmas dillemmas.......

 

White leather will show every speck of dirt. If you are VERY ****, and are careful about what you allow and what you do not allow in your MINI, then you could do it, but it would be a PITA to maintain.

If you want to see a really WHITE interior, download the episode of Unique Whips on iTunes where the guys redo a cadillacs interior in ALL WHITE leather and suede. It is the one with Tom Wolfe.

It would look Spectacular, but be a nightmare to maintain (EVEN more than keeping a JB boot clean!) Ethier way I want to see photos of this, it sounds like it is going to be an awsome custom MINI.

Go for it, and have a good set of seat covers for daily beatings then take them off when you want her(assumed since about ot made pink) to look extra pretty. Also you may want to talk to thefuturequeenofnebraska (TFQON) and StoopidGirl (MLE) about their Pink MINI conversions experiances and connection with other pink MINIs, its an exclusive club (I think maybe 6 soon to be 7 in the US)

 

I also love the look of white leather seats. One of the first cars I drove was a 82 Caddy Broughm with white leather interior. It still looked pretty good for being 10 years old, but far from perfect. I mention this because one thing I do remember is that the little cracks that all leather seats eventually get, are more visable on white leather. Perhaps this could be prevented with much **** leather care, just thought I would head my warning but support the stylish endevour.

 

In denver a guy got his MCSc painted white with custom leather white seats.. From the picture at the dealer it was STUNNING for sure!!

 

Unique Whips on Speed TV did a totally white interior for some guy (forget his name). White leather everywhere on a large white car. They were meticulous with it and had a hard time keeping it clean while installing with gloves on. All the hides were matched perfectly.

The guy picking it up was dressed in total white suit and was very impressed.

However, I would never get white leather and you will never be able to keep it clean. Any scuff mark, anything will show. It might be good for a show car or if your are absolutley meticulous in care but for daily driving, never.

 

You could always get some of those clear plastic seat covers to go over the white leather...

In a pink MINI, I think white leather would look awesome if you had pink piping on the leather as well (or maybe a pink suede insert). Maybe you should take your MINI to Unique Whips .

Sounds really cool (although white leather would be a really bad idea for me personally)! My friend just had her Karmann Ghia custom-painted hot pink and then did the interior in black leather with matching pink piping everywhere - it turned out SO awesome.

I'm getting dark graphite (MINI black colour)/Pearl (just slightly off white) leather seats with red stitching on my new MINI thru Katz leather. They can do custom leather seats for about $1300. Ask your MINI dealerhip.

 

I would choose vinyl over white leather. It will hold up better over time.

 

I just sold a Mustang that had white leather, (blue w/white top), it looked great from a moderate distance, however, it showed wear with dark creases, and I had to clean it "all the time" to keep it looking good. I'm putting Wet Okoles in my Mini as soon as they get here, it's an easy, durable way to customize your seats...they don't come in white, but they do have neon pink and pink aloha? Just an idea...

 

Wow lots of great tips and Ideas...thanks. As for those pink faux fur covers, they are so not hot! I do like the idea of the pink piping with the white seats. I do realize they'd be super hard to keep clean, and of course Im already pretty **** about that and my cars not even new...LOL
If only I didnt have that lapis blue....I could leave the interior black. Oh well. I also thought about trying to trade or just purchase some black leather mini seats from someone. So they have and exclusive club for pink minis??? I've seen the two that u mentioned Motor On. I think thats cool...and I came up with that idea the other day. Guess they beat me too it. :(

 

Gotta agree with the crowd on this one, white seats would look great intially but show everything over time. Maybe some two tone seats with 'red and white' or 'pink and white' or 'pink and black'

 

Why not try to get ahold of some white Okole seat covers with pink piping around them. They may do a custom job, and it would probably be cheaper than white leather.
