How long to wait before installing badge over boot stripes?

I'm ready to install my DIY boot stripes from Aesthetic Creations and I was wondering how long I should wait after the install before reinstalling the Cooper S badge.

And a follow up question of how long before the vinyl can withstand a Z7/Z5/Z6/Z2/Z6... treatment.

Thanks.

if you're not using soap solution, i think you can mount the emblem right
after installing the stripes.

if you do use soap solution, i would give it at least 24hours in the dry or
toast it with a heat lamp for a couple of hours (or just leave it out in the
sun).

Since the install will be a dry install you can put the badge on right after. Just follow the instructions for the install and it will be no sweat. Added hint from the DIY install thread will help too.

Post your results! I'm waiting for mine to come (just ordered yesterday) and am trying to learn all I can before I do my install.

It took me about an hour. I was extremely nervous that I'd mess it up but it proved to be pretty simple. It started getting dark so I didn't feel comfortable putting the replacement CooperS badge back on so I'll do that tomorrow.

The Aesthetic Creations instructions were very helpful and the DYI stripes thread also cleared up some questions I had: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=73509

I used the 'dry' technique outlined in the AC directions although others have mentioned using a slightly soapy solution that is supposed to reduce air bubbles and allow for some slight movement if you get a crease or fold. The dry technique worked fine for me.

After viewing some images on NAM I decided where I wanted the stripes (left to right) so that the badge would land with the C fully in the black rather than partially in the white. Then I removed the badge with dental floss and cleaned up the adhesive with alcohol. I then washed and dried the boot where the stripes would be placed to remove all Zaino and to provide a good base for the vinyl. I taped the stripe in place and double checked my measurements.

I then peeled back the stripe from the top and removed the top half of the backing and started working very slowly up the vinyl keeping it with a soft curve up and away from the boot. I found that if you pulled very tightly on the vinyl it tended to crease severely around the rubber squeegee making it susceptible to wrinkling. For me, a soft curve to the vinyl while working slowly seemed to work best.

Then I peeled the backing off the bottom half and repeated the slow march to the bottom edge of the boot.

Rinse, lather, and repeat on the other side and I'm done (minus the badge replacement which I'll do tomorrow).

This thread has gone a little stale but I thought I'd finish what I'd started and show how the badge turned out after I finally got it installed the following day.

http://www.americanminimates.com/bling.html at the bottom. They're one of NAM's vendors from the front page.
