I had to get rid of mine too. Just not my cup of tea. I like a nice clean simple look.

after you remove the unit with the floss idea--can someone tell me if the support behind it was cleanable-or what it looked like under it. i am thinking of mounting a gps mount there-but it wont cover up all the area the cup holder support bracked does

WTH

All I want to know is how it installs. I purchased an OEM one from British Atlantic but I can't figure out how to mount the damn thing. I think something is missing...

One thing that I noticed is that once the bracket is removed the long screws no longer secure the pillar in place snugly, so what I intend to do is make washers out of the protruding nubs you see here by sawing them off with a hacksaw and sanding them down to the thickness of the plastic in order to take up the slack and make the pillar installation snug again.

How does the bottom piece mount?

I use the Belkin TuneDok in the factory cupholder, so I can put my Dunkin Donuts coffee in the MiniFini.

My 03S did not come with a cup holder. I went with the Mini fini and mounted it low but just high enough to swing over the tunnel so the passenger seat misses it when slid forward for rear seat entry.

I have my Ipod mounted next to the Speedo ontop of the steering wheel, but I am going to just move it to the glove compartment as it functions off the MFSW so I dont need to have it within reach, going to mount the Blackberry in that spot now

I removed my cup holder--but it left the post that it was attached to not looking so great---anyone try to replace that post with a new one. i asked the dealer and they told me it was like $125 to do it which i thought was a bit insane for what cant be more than a $25 part-but i could be wrong. if anyone has replaced the support post-let me know where you got the spare part and if it was a big deal to do. my thanks !
