I've never seen this one before

This is interesting. It may have already been posted, but I have never seen it before and it has some very cool bodywork. I like how the bumper is connected to the hood. Too bad these pictures are during the work and they don't show the finished product.

Anyone know anything about this one or where there are more pics? I hope that it didnt turn into the scary animal kit found on the same website (autofashion).

I don't know the answer to your question but this photo begs for a caption contest!

I don't know if I like them. I do like the Minitor, because it still looks like a MINI. The green one however doesn't, it just looks to me like a blob. And do I spy a classic mini with the same body kit and lambo doors...blah!

Does this mean that when you open the bonnet, the bonnet and the bumper go up in the air? Not very practical, but I do like the look of it, hoppefully they didnt put gaudy vinyls all over it. and im not diggin the gull doors. nice find!

gull doors? Lambo doors! https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ht=Lambo+doors
These are not gullwing doors, like the Mercedes 300 SL.

All I can say... Hot Wheels.

Yikes!!! Yeah, we all LOVED the gold Autofashion MINI last time we saw it. Yuk!!! They do some over-the-top work but I'm not so sure about their good taste.

Remember this???

the neon green car is what used to be the gold car, which is what used to be the chameleon colored animal kit.

just keeps getting worse and worse as time goes by. We get the idea, you can use fiberglass....now take some design courses so you can actually do it well.

hahah its just that, they are obviously VERY capable of doing some good work. Their craftsmanship and tool abilities seem to be much better than average. They just seem to lack any sense of car design, or the simple factors that go into bodywork decisions. It's not just that its an "aggresive" body kit......it just doesnt flow in any of the right places, and the emphasis of weight isn't placed in the right areas. Not to mention much of their line quality needs to be worked on, the wheel wells arent even fully circular, there are some dips and bends in the cuts

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy original parts to replace the damaged ones, instead of making them yourself? Do they have pictures of the accident?

Exactly!! The bonnet hinges on the front and flips forward. This is the car that is on hydraulics to raise/lower, too. If it were on a Jetta commercial, it'd be fodder for the 'ol trebuchet for sure.

careful.....don't make fun of airbags. There is nothing wrong with airbags, and they happen to be jetta approved, so i doubt they would be un-pimped

most lambo doors can open normally as well as up.....so if in a tight situation, you could just open as you normally would.

Thats a pretty good response from my insomniac post. I wish someone still had a pic of it finished before it turned gold and even wierder.

it was gold before it was green

back in 2002 -03 it looked like this:

then a little while later, they made some big changes....air bags, custom work on the animal kit. Molded the new hood to the bumper, added some fake diffusers. and got this:

now they are painting it green, and no one knows what is in store for it. They got rid of the division in the front grill and worked on the front bumper to clean it up a bit. Kept the same wheels (for now atleast):

Yeah I thought it may have been the same car (as I mentioned in the first post), but I was hoping not. If this is the latest incarnation like you sat, in my opinion it is an improvement. I do admire their originality though. Very creative I guess, maybe they just have a bit too much energy. I'm also interested in the seeing how the green looks on the finished product.

Are you sure that isn't a prototype for the new movie, Cars?

I agree. The front lip reminds me very much of the MINI Mania Cooper kit which was the first body kit most of us ever saw and one that I always like for its restraint. This one seems to start there and just get weird.
