Disarming the seat belt sensor

This might sound a little trivial... but s there any way you can disarm the seat belt sensor?? Im not sure if the previous years do this, but my 06 beeps constantly until I actually put the seatbelt on.

I know, I know... safety first, but sometimes you just wanna cruise around comfortably.

Can this be done? has anybody attempted to do it?

If you dont want to take apart the buckle, you can just buckle the seatbelt behind the seat. You'll never know its there.

I always cruise around comfortably. With the seatbelt on. Get used to it - it won't kill you, and it just might save you. I never wore my seatbelt (way back when), then a van ran a light and hit me head on and I met my windshield and rear view mirror in a most abrupt and disturbing manner. Seatbelts seemed like a much better idea after that.
That said, the gene pool can always use a little more chlorine - use at your own risk
For your pennance, you must read the entire thread, not just the well written DIY.

Worked Like A Charm!

I had no idea this was a previous post... Had no idea how heated the discussion got....

I followed the instructions and 30min later, no dinging noise!!

Thanks Liaudio, great instructions, I only wish all the other ones were like it!

Rock on dude! . I get it,It's a joke right? IF you survived the wreck,I'd love to hear you tell the paramedics that you didn't have your seat belt on because you wanted to be comfy.
Now that's funny! Someone please tell him how to do it. It will make for a great story for his next of kin.

I very much understand this, like today I drove from the BMW service drop off about 150 yard to the MINI dealer, stayed in the same parking lot and under 10 MPH, and the ding started 3/4 of the way through, it just gets flat out annoying for those small intra-parking lot journeys.

Ya know.......this usually is a great forum until the sanctimonious flare their nostrils and clear their throats before expressing an opinion which, of course, they are free to do because this is America. Land of the free...get it?
