Painted Interior: Part Three

I finally gave up on trying to paint my interior myself, and I brought it to the body shop. A week and a half later, I got all the pieces back. It looks awesome! Let me know what you think.

Looking good. VERY unique. A nice touch of red but not tooo much. Have you considered black dials for the odometers? One last thing to get rid of... the silver on the steering wheel, paint it black! You know you want to lol...

Ditto on the steering wheel, vertical spoke red horizontal spokes black. I know, the buttons, what to do with the buttons.
Very nice combination of red and black, there must have been some agonizing moments. Good job!

Thanks!

The steering wheel is next. That last little bit of silver is just really bothering me now that it sticks out so much. I just have to figure out how to take the steering wheel apart and still be able to drive the car while its painted .

What do you mean by the "black dials for the odometers"? I am not sure what part you are talking about.

Thanks for the compliments.

Hmm, i definitely like the idea of the red on the vertical and black on horizontal. Now, I need to figure out what color to do the ring around the airbag.

Well, it is hard to tell, because I did it at the same time as my side skirts so the price was combined. But, based on the quote, it was roughly $220 for paint and labor.

Thanks, I am real happy with how it turned out.

Oh, the $220 did not include the cost to paint the side skirts. I guess I should of mentioned that. That was another couple hundred .

I am not sure how to take that one, but since the MINI is commonly referred to as a clown car, I guess it fits...

About the dials, I mean the backpart of the odometers which have the numbers on them, stock its silver with orange lighting. Maybe try black dials with red lighting?

Steering wheel, personally I'd just paint all 3 spokes black and probably the ring in the middle in red. Because that matches the trim rings.

A quick photoshop of what I mean.

Oh wow! I like the way that looks. Thanks for doing that. I have been planning on changing that silver background in the speedo for quite some time now, but nobody seems to make a replacement :( .

As for the steering wheel, that is DEFINTELY next on my list. I just need to figure out what to do with the MFSW buttons...hmmmmmm

I'm not a huge fan of bright screaming colors on the interior of cars that arent honda show-cars....but i like the work you did.

I didnt mean the jester thing to be an insult or joke.....the alternating colors on the shift boot just reminded me of something like this

No, it is not the piano dash. I removed the dash and had it painted it as a body shop.

As for the rings...which ones are you talking about? The vent rings? The rings around the speedo? Or all of them in general? Most all of the interior parts (with the exception of the door panels) come off with little effort. If you want more specific details, I'd be glad to help.
