Custom grille badges

I saw that www.cafepress.com has 2.25 inch magnets that you can customize with any image file. I ordered a few to see if they would make good grille badges and they arrived today.

They are metal with a reasonably strong magnet covering the back. I'n not sure how well they would hold up at speed though. They have a nice glossy finish.

My grille badge holder hasn't arrived yet so I'm not sure how they will fit on the car. I'll post up some pics when it arrives

But I think they are a good option at only $1.25 each if you wanted to create a bunch of silly badges to line up on a bonnet stripe.

so is it grill or grille? which is for cooking steaks?

And now your NAM name makes sense

Bolus met Ivy.

Get it ????

I made a few magnetic decals a few years back with some of the cra.... ah I mean stuff they sell for Bumper Stickers. Ink faded almost as fast as I could print them but they stuck to the car!

Believe it or not, the best material I've found are those Lawyer advertisements that come stuck to the front of new phonebooks! Not going to take the cheap shot, not going to do it - nope!

I'd like to know how well these hold up, so could you let me know? Thanks

I got my badge holder today. The cafepress magnets are much smaller than the holder but it does not look that bad for a $1.25 magnet. They stick pretty good. I'll try some wind tests tomorrow

I got a bunch more in the mail today. The magnets hold up well at speed too. Here are pics of a few of them

What is the largest badge diameter that'll fit in the holder?

The badge holder is 3" in diameter but is just a metal plate. So you could stick a magnetic dinner plate on there if you wanted.

I made custom grille badges for the MININuts. They have more thickness and weight than the printed vinyl ones, but still fit on the magnetic badge holder. They seem to hold up just fine at speed and are epoxy coated for durability:

Five of them curing on the fridge:
