Using stealth bulbs in clear tail lights?

Hi all, I'm also going to post this in electrical since I'm not sure where this question really goes.
I just changed out the tail lights on my 06 MCS to the clear altezza type lights. I used the LED light recommended for the brake portion of the light (the very bottom of the 3 bulbs) and they are great. I'm thinking that it would be a good idea safety-wise to use a stealth bulb for the center (turn signal) bulb. With the new set up, the signal bulb now flashes a white light and I think the amber is a better light for a signal light? All three bulbs are the exact same size and the bulb I bought at AutoZone for the bottom was #1157. I'm thinking that I can order a stealth bulb of that same model number and it should be fine??
Any input or reasons why I should or shouldn't do this?
I'm going to post pics this evening.
Annette

I'm all for amber turn signals, I think they are more distinct intention wise (you don't confuse them with anything else and they get your attention that someone is indicating a turn/lane change). I have used Silvervisions in several cars with clear lamp housings, including the Mini, and love them: http://supremepowerparts.com/product..._Blinker_Bulbs

Can't see why those or bulbs like them would not work for you too.

Hope that helps

You'd probably want an 1156 for the turn signal, 1157 is dual filament which you don't need.

YAY, Thanks y'all for the help. I used eVal's link and switched to the 1156 per SonicVI and saved enough to have them overnighted!
Love ya, mean it

Oh, and here's a pic of the new hindquarters, so to speak.

Looks good!

Are these the e-bay altezza lights you mentioned in a post a couple of weeks ago? Did you have any problems with wiring them up?

These are the ones from ebay. I rec'd them in about 3 days, so that was great. Since I have an 06, I did have to get 2 bulb sockets from the MINI dealer. I then bought the LED 1157 bulbs from Autozone to use in the bottom socket for the brake lights. Not a prob at all to get in, very worth the time and $$. About $55 for the lights, $30 for the MINI parts and $18 for the LED lights.

FYI, Polarg makes the "stealth" bulbs as well. I get mine at the local import tuning shop.
