Just like it says, I'm planning on doing the swap from my MC rear to a MCS rear bumper. I did a search and found that it seems to be a pain, but also that it is possible. Anyone who's done it and has advice, I thank you in advance.

Specific Q's:

Can you remove the lower trim (w/ the exhaust cutaway) from the MC and put it on the MCS, or do you need to purchase a new one?

I've been considering the same change for my car. It seems that the S bumper itself (the painted part) is compatible, but the Cooper lower trim parts that fit it need to come from particular model years. See this post.

 

just as a follow up, I did the conversion with an '05 MCS bumper and '04 MC trim. No cutting or anything weird was necessary, it took less than an hour to switch...check the pic.
