i wasn't expecting this

i've never been happy with the stock seats in my mini, so last weekend i installed some corbeau seats. (thanks brad) i did a quick 100 mile run yesterday and really love the support and comfort. what i wasn't ready for is the extra sensitivity they provide. now i can really feel everything the car is doing and feels like i have even more control. i'll never be able to go back to "normal" seats again.

^^ says the man with recaros... nice seats on both cars. Where did you get the corbeaus? I've thought about something similar, but I have lapis blue interior and I rather enjoy the black/blue seats, so I'd want them reupholstered as such. either way, very nice

edit- also, how much lower to the floor are you with those seats? Is there much of a difference?

yeah, recaros would be nice, but i saw these corbeaus (used) here on NAM. i had corbeaus in my last car, but they weren't as nice as these. the seat height is within 1/2 inch and i find myself sitting a little closer to the steering wheel with these. it feels A WHOLE LOT

cool, i've been interested in new seats seeing that mine arn't to comfy. i just looked up corbeaus web site, the seats are cheap, especialy compared to other brands. i think i will have to take a look at them in person. here is there web site!

here's a comparison of the two. remember that mini seats slope back (in the seat area) quite a bit. the back of the seat bottom is about the same height on them both. the guy who had these before me put in a few washers and hardened bolts to lean it back some, couldn't have worked better.

these are the TRS seats. like i said, i found these used, so didn't have a choice on them. i did try sitting in other models of corbeau seats here in town, but they seemed too narrow (and i'm skinny) for me. if i had a choice, i would want seats with the wear pads on the bolsters. the ones in my last "fun" car wore through there and it's impossible to repair. last summer, i broke my back (not mini related). i'm ok now, but have never been able to sit comfortably in the stock seats for more than an hour or two. now i think i will!

man, even on the corbeau site they're pretty inexpensive! I'd love to see them priced on another site

I´d have to say that I´m pretty jealous... I´ve been wanting new seats for a while now... In fact, I think I´m going to start shopping around right now... Thanks for the input on your seats!!!
