is this front bumper from a cooper? where can I get one of these ...opinions on how it would look with that chrome bar across the front opening paintmatched?

 

Its from an 05-06 Cooper... and it will look good if you like the extra chrome :D

no, I wouldn't like the extra chrome, hence the color matching of all the chrome

 

I just need to buy a new bumper, for some modifying I'm going to do...and rather than get another MCS bumper, I think I would rather enjoy that bumper if there was no chrome.

And yes.. you can get a new bumper from Classic... just dont forget to mention that you are on NAM to get your discount

Someone else on NAM posted some pics a couple of weeks ago. He had installed a piece of PVC tubing across the opening that he painted to match the rest of the car, looked real nice.

That one just happens to have the chrome line trim. You can get the same bumper w/o the chrome. As a chrome hater, thats what I went for on my old Cooper.

 

Here is the Pepper White standard version (paint-matched, non-chrome). Your best chance to get one at a reasonable price is to search for a take-off from an aero kit installation. Check with dealers and inquire on the forums. A new one (primed) can be purchased from the dealer.

 

No mater what hes gonna have to have the bumper painted, the car is EB and the bumpers are only avail on the Cooper.

 

^ right, I was going to buy a brand new one anyway, just to have a clean start. My bumper now is accumulating a good bit of tiny chips from freeway driving. Not really noticable from more than 2 feet away, but to me, thats how close you need to be to enjoy things

thanks for those pictures, I like the look w/o any chrome there. One other question...will front lips still fit on that bumper? i.e. the helix/hamann/m7?
