Interior/Exterior Guage pods (A pillar), anyone?

Believe it or not the local authorities have a list of automotive modifications which they use to profile cars with regards to pulling them over. The top five are fat exhaust tips, vinyl graphics, aftermarket wheels, tinted windows and you guessed it A pillar mounted gages. I am not making this up. I love California LOL

I think the first decision is to determine what information is important to you and prioritize from there . By way of illustration the lay out on my car from lower left to right, oil pressure gage , Hot lap Lap timer, G-tech ( great sequential shift light ) PLX wide band A/F digital/analog meter and lastly Boost gauge. Down under the toggle switches are the water temp and ammeter units. I gave the G tech priority as I use the shift light and lateral G force information constantly. Next level of importance and location is the lap timer , oil pressure , boost and A/F gauges for general performance info. Lastly the water temp and ammeter for quick checks at various intervals . Bottom line is you pick what you want to check and how often and place it accordingly.

whats wrong with the alta gauge pods that go around the tach? i think that is by far the best setup, as it is right where you need them and doesnt obstruct the view of the road, which is most important.

Looks just as good....costs WAY less. No reason to get an alta unless you want the silly logo.

Thats looks good.where and how much? Also what are the 4 most important gauges to use? I know i want a coolant temp gauge and an oil pressure one. What other 2 would be good?
That pillar started life as an OEM pillar, 4 Greddy 60mm Left A-Pillar Gauge Mounts, various 3M products and paint.
There is no how to, this was custom made body work.
The pillar pulls away, it's held on with clips and there is a strap that keeps it from flying away in the event the air bags go off. The strap is screwed in, it can be unscrewed. It's not real easy from what I remember.

Well i got my pods today, gauges coming. I do like them and will be painting them to match the piller, but they do block alot of sight for people that find that very important, i can move my head a little and see around them fine when i need too but some people go crazy over that stuff. I'll still post pics when everything is done.
