Driving light recommendations

I'm looking to install two driving lights but don't want to go the route of OEM. Does anyone have recommendations as to which ones to go with? I would like to keep the cost down but get some very bright lights. I do have Xenons but don't want to go the expense of adding more xenons. Also, has anyone had any experience with the remote control kits for driving lights? I looked around on the internet and saw the Hella kit that does not require pulling wires through the firewall but I have not heard of these before.

I don't know if you want to buy anything used but Twister has a set of PIAA's for sale and it looks like the modified aero grill can go as well. I have them on my car and love them. And since the grill is modified, you don't have to cut yours up.

Whoops!

I just checked your gallery.

Sorry I Misinterpreted your signature. I thought you had the Aero kit. Since you don't, you wouldn't have to make any modifications to your grill.

Hella 500's are the best bang per buck.

7 inch round, plastic housings and stone guards, all wiring neccesary (you need to get some driving light brackets) for under $60.

swarley,

Are those the fog pattern of driving pattern lights? Or do they even make different patterns?

I'm waiting for a reply I was third in line but the first one has dropped out, still waiting. If I don't I'm looking to order some Hella 500s, maybe two sets. Has anyone mounted two above and two below the bumper, driving lights above fogs below?

Swarley,

I noticed in your sig, that you used to have the four IPF lights that came with the Alta light bar.

So now that you've switched to the Hella Black Magic's, let me ask you your opinion: WHICH DO YOU LIKE BETTER, and even more importantly, WHY?

Thanks!

I think they are just a basic driving pattern and I beleive you are correct about only one pattern type.

No, but the 13" black and white I have in the back seat gets excellent reception. I don't have to use tin-foil anymore.

I like the IPF's, but I'm going for a blacked out look and they are very chromy.... if ya know what I mean. I saw the black magics on LY/B mounted on the bonnet through the aero grill and that's all I needed to see. I had the Alta bar already mounted and just put them on there to see....I liked it, but I'll probably put them up on the bonnet eventually....before the Dragon for sure.
