I like it. Any "you-ification" is good, right? And you never know when you're going to need access to a computer.
Besides, throw in a wireless card and on road trips you have no problem finding free internet access.
And I want the same color paint. Seriously. Maybe in a metallic, but that bright, international distress orange is a GREAT color for a car.

I LOVE the scrolling marque. I've wanted something like that on my car for as long as I can remember.

Can you type things into it as you're driving? Like, "Get off my @ss" and stuff like that?

What you need to do is have a few saved messages....

1.) When you get pulled over. "sorry officer....."

2.) When you see some cute girls. "Here's my phone number...."

3.) When someone is tailgating. "can you please back away from my car"

I think these 3 will come in handy. you better have them ready....Ecspecially number 2 when I am in the car.

Now this is pretty sweet! The front monitor is not exactly my style, but since you will be using it for gps it is functional. I love the marquee on the back. Good Job!

His car used to be the same color as yours in case you didn't know. You should do it!

System Update

I have recently ran the USB cable to the front. This will be attached to the usb hub in the glovebox. This hub will be running the DVD drive, Camera dock, and keyboard mouse

I also mounted the DVD writer drive in the glovebox. Allows passengers to put in movies, games, or music video dvds

I tapped into the radios power line to power the dvd drive

Job all said and done, what really matters...no visible wires, and glovebox closes

Next to come...

Keyboard mounting
GPS mounting

Also, I keep my xanga page up to date with more pics.... http://xanga.com/addamaniac

on the right is my cell. the middle is my digital camera. the left is the walkie, which is integrated into the toggles for talking. the walkie is used when cruising, it allows my buddies and i to talk, all on the same line, as you can imagine, its much easier then cells.

oh, and as of right now, this particular toggle bank can have 9 functions. currently, i only have it connected to the laptop and the walkie, so i have 7 more to use up. I only have plans for the power inverter in the back and the DVD drive/open.

thats a good job on all the things u threw in for the comp system. but whats the use other than movies? musics? can internet be hooked up (without the un-acceptable high rate of the gprs slow butt connection)?

You could save yourself rewiring your whole car and go with a mac mini.
Other than that I think it is pretty cool. you're doing a good job. Hopefully by next year I'll have a touch screen attatched to a mac mini.

mounting a small laptop in the front was an option, but first, with all the wires hooked up to it, it wouldnt look very good. this system leave almost NOTHING to be seen except for a monitor.

aside from movies/music, there is of course GPS which has a refresh rate of 1sec(60 updates a minute). I also have a scrolling marquee on the back window that needs controlling. The laptop also has built in WIFI, so just pull up to a business with unsecured WIFI(getting harder to find, but theyre still out there)
