The pictures are loading soooo slow for me. Can you put them on photobucket or something? I really want to see this.

The photos don't load at all for me. Try uploading them to the board here. I'd like to see it also.

Maybe you could upload the pics to your gallery so we can get them easier? I keep timing out and it looks like you're serving them from your home cable connection? (Earthlink in WI, right?) Wioth cable upload speeds being what they are, more than one of us trying to get them at once is probably not treating your bandwidth to nicely.

If you're hosting them some other way, well then I apologize and hopefully will get better at home!

Nice setup, however I don't know about that screen position. Not a lot of places to put a screen in the Cooper though.

how can one ask my WHY i would do such a thing?

The marquee is just the coolest thing. If you arent into buying things for cool points, then its also very functional

GPS

In-car sound running through Aux/in, no more CDs. all on playlists 80gb of space for music. Actually, im working on getting a collection of music videos to play instead of just music.

DVD's/Games for passengers. If my driving were not entertaining enough..

How nice is it to keep track of stuff? Many people keep a journal or whatever you want to call it. No more paper, just enter it in electronically. I road-trip and adventure a lot so this will no doubt, be a function this system will serve for me.

All this hardware is implemented for less then $1k. People spend much more then that on just a GPS system alone.

On top of all, its different/unique. Thats me. just look at the car. Im all about being yourself. Be different. be original. Be unique!

I have to admit, the picture makes the screen placment very bad as it seems to cut out 3/4 of the mirror. That picture was taken from the ceiling. When Im sitting, and this was very important, I can still see all the way down the street behind me. The very top of the back window is cut off, but its just sky. I sit as low as I can and Im not terribly tall either.

I was initially going to put the screen in the visor, but it would have been much more difficult to implement, though the view would NOT be cut at all. Also, if I were to put it in the visor, no passenger fun. And since that's the message I'm trying to portray in this car, that just wasnt gonna work...

Nicely described!

Less then $1K? Screen and marquee and all?

What about security? Are you worried that someone is going to rip you off? Break some glass to take the screen?

I know I'd stay far away from river west and the north side with your car

another awesome thing about this screen is that its quick disconnect. disconnecting takes < 5 seconds (VGA cable / power cable) and just clips off the mount. And I can take it with me, as I do.

It's a sweet set up. I'm his neighbor/best friend/ cruising partner. My favorite part is the screen...It tilts towards either side, or up and down. Since I ride in his car alot, I'll be tilting the screen towards the passenger side. The back window is hilarious just too look at. Its a really clever and fun idea. Right now it scrolls through and displays his name, number, how's my driving, dont drink and drive, and no smoking. I've seen lots of "ricey" things, this isn't even close to rice. The way everything is set up is professional and hidden as much as possible. Great job addam!
