You can always get plugs for the holes ...

Or free if you have the stuff laying around! hehe Besides you get to use your tow hook!

how do you guys make sure the tow hook doesn't come loose and spin around, resulting in you plate being upside down. In other words what holds your hook level?

You can either use a thin washer or a locking washer to do this.

Two words: Lock Washer! 5/8 is the size that works well!

I took an old plate I had layin around and folded it at a ninty degree angle about a half an inch at the bottom to fit in to the lower grill. It seem to tuck into the grill area just right and left some breathing room behind it but I thought it might block to much incoming air enough that it could create an over heating problem. I also considerd that I might be asking for trouble with the law for altering the plate. I would strap it to the grill with zip ties and it wouldn't look like an after thought as the factory mount does. I told my MA that when my car came in, not to drill the holes for the plate and in doing so they made me sign a document that they would not be held resposible for not mounting the front plate which you must have in California. I truly hate the way the front plate mount's to the front bumber and just won't do it. Using the tow hook seems like a very good Idea also.

Sorry, not really, but here is the thread where I showed how I made mine:

If I were you I would give it a try or order the one form http://www.gominigo.com/18545.html mentioned above.

You may have better luck with Garret though, he seems to have more time on his hands and motivation then I.

Even if someone made you one (would you need another tow hook ($19.00) or use your exisiting one and have to ship it to the person doing the work, the metal and screws to make the bracket (as garret says maybe $15.00), labor to build ($10.00) I am sure you would not want him to do it for free, and then shipping ($5.95) That is $51.00. Oh, I forgot tax of a couple of bucks so then it is at $53.00.

I guess the gominigo price is not that far out of line........$55.95 shipped.

And the tow hook is still ready to use as a tow hook if needed, do not have to disassemble the license plate bracket.

Mini-rolls, I agree (even though you are just hunting for business ). Making your own is really the only cheaper option if you use your existing tow hook, as you dont charge yourself for the labor and time. The parts would only come to $10-$15. But for me I would have paid the $50 it was available when I wanted it.

Mini-rolls, question for you: Do you guys or would you sell just the custom tow hook bolt? That would be good to know.
