Boost Gauge in the Dash Install

Hey Guys-

Heres a link to what I did exactly, this is posted on NEMINI. Bryan (FastBandit) was the key to doing this and without him it would have never happened, so PM him if you have mechanical/wiring/other questions. Just a sidenote that was significant: Removing the dash on an 05 is no small chore. Removed 16, yes count them 16, screws from all over the dash. It's all good though, as the gauge looks great as you can see from the pics. If anyone wants a video of the gauge in action, PM me , and I will upload it to YouTube or something. What do you guys think?

The forum I posted it on:
http://www.nemini.org/Forums/viewtop...865.html#79865

The Gauge:

From the Driver's side:

The whole interior with it:

How much it sticks out:

It was tough to do, but so worth it. Only thing is, make sure you get a bright bulb. The lighting isn't all that awesome. But the look is great.

Looks great. I have mine on order from Jegs (along with an oil pressure
gauge) and will install when I get a warm day. I can't/won't mount them
in the vents, though. It gets too d@mn hot down here to give up an AC
vent.

is just too hot for me. I guess I'm a whimp.

Nice a few questions though, How does it look at night? Other vent replacement gauges I'v seen are angle toward the driver so how easy is it to read?

I got an orange bulb for it (3.99 @autozone.) It's not a translucent face, so it's lit up by a halo around the perimeter of it. It's visible, but not bright, and I highly suggest replacing the stock bulb because it is worth squat.

The question of angling: You will need the angling ring to fit it snugly in there, and the reasons why I didn't angle it more towards me:

1. I'm 6'3", so the seat is all the way back for me, and I can see it fine.
2. The speedo isn't angled and I had no problem reading that, so the boost gauge isn't a problem for me to read either.
3. I liked scaring the crap out of my passengers, and they can read the boost right with the speedo.

Let me know if you wanna know anything else. Parts total came close to $75~ with the bulb and angling rings.

I like it but I'd have to agree, that'd be way unpopular w/ my passengers during the summer....and they can get surly.

Sticker under the gauge is the Autometer sticker. I don't like it much, I'm probably going to take it off soon.

Whoa, whoa, whoa Jonathon...you don't think i would do something ghetto like that now do you?! I told Chris we have to hardwire that thing. Unfortunately we ran out of time that night so we will be doing that in the future.

By the way...hope your having a good time out there!
