online source for rear mud flaps?

I've looked here, mossmini, bavauto, a few other sites online, all I could find was the front mudflaps for the MC. I did those a couple weeks ago, I'm looking for the MC rear flaps. Anyone have a source to order online ?
Thanks!

I have them on my '03 Cooper. I THOUGHT they would eliminate the messy rear end. I was WRONG. Don't waste your money. The ONLY reason they are still on my car is because they have already been purchased and installed. Now, the FRONT ones are a REAL plus...they do not look like much but they really DO help.

The front ones do help. It was immediately apparent (on a dark car) that they were needed and they make a big difference. I'm sure the rear ones wouldn't totally eliminate the dirty rear end, but they don't help at all ? I am amazed how quickly the rear end looks like crap while the rest of the car stays reasonably clean.

I've had the fronts and rears on for 2 yrs now. The fronts seem to keep stuff from coming back in all but the most inclement weather. The rears probably work to a degree, but it's the chopped off back end of the MINI that seems to attract road spray or dust like a magnet. That said, if I were to choose between getting both fronts AND rears again, I'd just go with the fronts.

Ah. Thanks. I hadn't ordered from outmotoring. It's not immediately apparent until I select the "Select" pulldown, I thought they were only selling the fronts.

Nice VIR pic, haven't been there since I gave up the track habit 2 yrs ago... (too expensive after 3 years straight doing it >= once a month)

I installed the front mud flaps and considered getting the rears. However people on the MINI2 forums report that the rear flaps give no benefit. Also, they cover up the rear side marker lights.

I still have my rear side lights, but the whole rear mud guard unit had to be replaced as the left side had somehow cracked and the rivets had popped. Fortunately, it was still under warranty.

How did you manage to keep your rear side lights? The installation instructions and the following photo from MINI2 (thread: http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83418) show the rear mud flap covering the entire bumper section of the wheel arch, where the side light is located. Also I have seen people post that the side light is covered.

Mine just arrived today. Looking at the right side one and comparing it to the photo you've posted, mine has a spot in the rear flap into which I presume I'm supposed to transfer the side marker from my existing right rear bumper, although the installation instructions make no mention of that. I've attached a photo of mine. The photo above must be a UK car. I'll have to futz around with mine and see how difficult it is to transfer the markers. I don't have time to mess with it today but check out this pic... (inside the spot for the marker there are two holes for bolts if the side marker attachment method is bolts/nuts).
Also, mine do NOT have the parts referred to in the instructions as 'Left end cap' and 'Right end cap'. I have two large screws (per the instructions), 6 smaller screws (per the instructions), 2 (instead of 4 per the instructions) large speed nuts, and 2 small speed nuts (per the instructions). It figures that with my limited DIY skills I'd get parts that don't match the instructions. That's the story of my DIY life ;-)

Hmmm... if the rear marker lights are preserved, I may get the rear flaps after all. I have a Pepper White car and interested in anything that helps with the muck.

You should check whether the vendor you purchased from has up-to-date instructions. Please post pictures when you are done!

I just emailed outmotoring.com and asked. Without the 'end caps' that are referenced in the instructions, I'm not about to start doing anything. If I get proper instructions that match my car and this flap set, I'll do it, otherwise I'll just return for a refund. Since the p/n of the kit changed from
"82 16 0 138 805" to "82 16 0 149 289". The 'old' instructions are p/n "01 29 0 139 699" so I'm sure there must be some new ones somewhere. If I can get them, I'll do it, otherwise I'll bag the idea.

Well Moss Mini has the same mudflaps with the rear reflector remaining. I can't view the instructions for them for some reason but other items I can. You might be able to though, not sure, but here is the link to purchase them and the link to the instructions is on that page. Hope it works for you!

There's an error in the Moss Mini link. I played around and found the correct address:
https://www.mossmini.com/graphics/products/instructions/100-666.pdf
They are the instructions for mud flaps with side marker lights.

Edit: I initially thought they are permanently glued on, but actually they are attached with adhesive tape and screws.

I DO have my rear side lights! I just went out and checked, just to be sure. WHEWWW!! The rear mudflaps I have were installed by the dealer. Perhaps therein lies the solution. This is the second set I've gotten installed by them as the first set got cracked somehow, and even this new set has the [red] side lights.

outmotiring.com responded to my request for the newer instructions with 'try the ones we sent you and if you run into trouble then we'll contact Mini'. That's laughable customer service, I'm very disappointed in that response. I will be returning the parts for a refund, the nearest dealer to me is 2 hours away, it's not like I can just run over there and say 'put these rear mudflaps on'.

Thanks I figured someone would eventually get it.

I agree with you; that's no way to treat a guinea pig (oops, I mean customer!). Good for you for bailing out of the deal. Too many of these vendors count on everyone being so breathlessly excited about modding our cars that we'll overlook shoddy instructions and poor customer service, give them a pass on sloppy business practices, and do their work for them.

In addition to the corrected link above (THANKS RKW!) a strong letter of disappointment (2nd email sent) to outmotoring resulted in a new PDF file arriving in my inbox (same instructions). I am glad they responded correctly this time, this is what I would have expected after my first 'what gives' note to them.

I'll post a picture or two after I get them done.

Well I just wasted not only the cost of these parts and shipping, but will have to replace my original right rear moulding where the side marker light is.

These rear flaps are absolute pieces of sh*t. They do not fit as the instructions indicate, their adhesive is crap, I have the right rear on and I'm going to pull it off and will have to replace my right rear moulding that holds the indicator light. The hole in the add-on rear flaps for the bulb in the side marker does not line up with where the bulb comes out of the old sidemarker area, and I thought cutting a hole in the old moulding to help the bulb assembly better align was the right solution. WRONG.

Crap crap crap. What an absolute ****-poor solution (as compared to the front flaps which were a piece of cake and fit perfectly).

If you're talking to anyone who's thinking of getting these, at WORST have the dealer do it and I still don't believe they'll fit.

In the first picture, where the flap is secured with a screw at the bottom (per instructions) , it 'pinches' outward and doesn't allow the adhesive to line up flush against the old moulding. In the 2nd picture, based on how the flap fits at the bottom (when attached from the bottom first and 'gluing' upward and forward from there, it ends up sitting too far outside on the old moulding, again the adhesive strip cannot line up flush.

I just made an appointment at my dealer to have them put a new 'old' moulding with light assembly on.

No more DIY's for me unless the parts fit like the front flaps.

Thanks for the update. I was already leaning towards not getting them, and now I definitely won't. The flap only blocks stuff thrown up in a straight line directly behind the tire, which I think is a very small proportion of the muck that forms on the boot.

I bought some of these and tried to fit them but they don't appear to fit 05/06 R50 cars. So that would explain they don't fit properly. Remember that the bumpers were changed so perhaps the plastic trim was as well.
