HOw to remove front bumper skin?

I am installing a middle M7 ultimate grill, I need to either remove the front bumper or just skin. What is involved?

There are three 10mm bolts under the front bumper that attach to the skidplate area, there are two phillips head screws to the sides of these 10mm bolts that attach to the fender liner, two T30 torx head bolts on the top of the cover, and two vertical 8MM bolts that are easiest to remove using a 1/4" ratchet with a long extension and an 8mm socket.

Hope that helps!

The T30 torx bolts:

One of the three 10mm underside bolts:

The 8mm bolt:

BTW - the sizes for the bolts I used are the socket size.

Hope that helps!

One thing I cant tell in the pisture, on the middle grill you have a chrome piece that comes out and a painted piece that looks as if it stays in, do you remove the painted piece?

If I understand you correctly, you are talking about the lower part of the grill with chrome trim around the grill slat. If so, you'll find that when you remove the chrome suround, the painted grill slat comes out with it.

Use some "Goo Gone" and it should take off the stocky stuff. You must have a newer car, eh?

Yep, the double-stick tape is a royal pain. Razor blade and some Goof-off worked for me.

When you put it back on, make sure you use to adjustment screws (the one's in the fender) to get the right clearances. Just screw them in until they stop then back them off. The carrier is spring loaded so you can push it around to align it.

I will try to ost pictures afterwhile, I opted to just take my Dremel and cut out the two sections that had the two sided tape on the and that presented a visual problem. The aluminum bumper will be seen so now I am polishing it which is a pain in the butt and then I will reinstall the cover! Hoe all comes out well.
