Interior/Exterior DIY CooperFlags stripes?
DIY CooperFlags stripes?
CooperFlags recommends professional installation. I'm thinking I can do this myself but I've never done anything like this before.
What do y'all think?
If I botch it or don't like the result, can I remove the vinyl stripes without damaging the underlying paint?

you should be able to remove it without damaging the paint...given that your bonnet is factory paint. ive removed my factory bonnet stripes before to put my new ones on. no issues.
it's easy to install... make sure you wrap your squeegee with a soft cloth
when you squeegee out the solution. otherwise you could scratch the
vinyl surface. i use the softest squeegee i have wrapped in a old
(but clean) cotton t-shirt.

I put CooperFlag stripes on. It takes time, but can be done by an individual. I recommend that you use the wet method. This lets you move the stripes around until you are statisfied. The key is patience and a really clean car!!
Thanks for the input. I'm still waiting to hear what the dealer will charge. (I'm sure I won't like it.) Also, they won't use CooperFlags products, only those that they can warrantee.
Another question: does temperature matter? I'm in the NE, so it's low 40s now and only slightly warmer in my garage.
